Loving your Spirit Guide?

Post  Violet on Tue Oct 27, 2009 2:22 am

I imagine you would feel some kind of love for a spirit guide especially if you have a close bond with them and are communicating regularly with them, at very least you'd have respect for them and trust them.
Do you think, or do you know of anyone who feels a romantic type of love for their guide, do you think it's even possible? Is it just people getting carried away, or could it be that a guide becomes the only reliable trustworthy and loving being in someone's life, especially if someone is lonely or in a bad relationship and depends on their guide more and more? I shouldn't think it would ever be reciprocated.

I know there is no physical body to love, but you do hear of things like astral sex, (that's a whole other thread.)

What are your thoughts on this?

Spirit Love

Post  Soaring Bird on Wed Nov 04, 2009 1:28 am

I love my spirit guides in the same way one would love a close brother. I believe this is recipricated to a degree as from my Book of Shadows ;
Company

Slightly missing the warmth of love while watching a movie I felt company gently enter. As well as the normal tingling and goosebumps on my lower arms I felt a very very gentle band of tingling all the way round my back to just under my lower rib. All the way round. It was very gentle and very comforting with a feeling of emotion within. A Spiritual Hug? Tingling on my lower arms, hairs standing on end as soon as I wrote thisquestion. A definite confirmation. Yes. I thanked the spirits for this.

Regards the physical aspect of spirit world. I knew of one woman who claimed a spirit came and had sex with her sometimes at night. Being honest I thought she was slightly mad! Since that time I know of two others who have said the same thing.
Of the three womaen, one was non spiritual. This leads me to a point of, is it a physical thing: like when men were boys and they used to have 'wet dreams' or is it an emotional thing, has it been at times of loneliness in ones life, or, is it, and I mean seriously, is it a spiritual thing and somehow in some way spirit form is doing this and if it is, well, that just throws so many questions into the equation.

IMO, if this happens then your guide has crossed the threshold of being a guide, and into dangerous territory. As well as probably being unfit to be one's guide if this level were to be attained.

I agree with you innerlight, I don't think it would happen from the guides side, but from the human side I could see some believing they were having some kind of spiritual love affair with their guide.

I have heard some people claim this has happened. Where their guides have gotten to attached to the person, or felt to much love for them.

IMO, they weren't guides to begin with. Which, IMO, is why family members are not guides.

No I don't believe guides are family members either, though a lot do, and i'm not knocking them for that, but imo they'd be far too biased and emotionally involved to be objective.

Exactly.. It's like a mother coming back to guide their offspring. Do you really think they would push them towards a hard time if it meant learning something important? And just stand there and let them suffer..

Course they may have no choice. I think it would be to hard to get involved on a loving relationship with the person you are guiding.

Some believe that as a spirit, in the spirit worls you can see the bigger picture, but I don't believe that to be true of recently departed souls who may need a long time to adjust to being spirit, and like you I don't think a mother could see a child getting hurt however long she's been there or how well adjusted to the spiritual she was. I believe guides are older souls, who have been in spirit a long time and progressed while over there.
