Re: The I-Ching
yes, the I-Ching is amazing. it takes time and it takes years to master, but at one time it just get into your blood, and you start place senstenses from the I-Ching into your life and you don't need the book any more. and everything looks so clear. i'm not sure i explain myself very good. i find it different from all other kinds of divinations. but i mostly use it for myself.

Re: The I-Ching
Yeah I must admit I only do it for myself but not very often, isn't it accurate? I am still looking for my books on this subject to explain the trigrams etc

it is very accurate, allthough sometime i feel i read myself into the reading, if you know what i mean.
the best book for the i ching, well i think this is the best book, is: I CHING translated by Rudolf Ritsema and Stephen Karcher. publisher: element
do you know this one? if you really into the i ching, this is the best book to wrok with and to study from.
this one and the bible are the 2 books i have near my hands all the time :)

I can't remember which it is as it's been that long since I saw it the name Rudolf rings a bell though...

Re: The I-Ching
well i don't know if this is only my luck or not but i find it hard to find other people who use the I-Ching on a regular basis. but i allways felt it isn't that friendly as the other metods of divinations

Hi Shayn, I think with a lot of people it's the time it takes, people are impatient these days, I will be 're-discovering' this method soon though as I got some I-Ching cards recently

Wow...this brings back memories! My mother used to 'play' with the I-Ching way back when I was a young teenager (one of my few memories from childhood.) I was too young to do anything but watch (and not understand anything), but she would sit for hours with it trying to figure it out.

That's strange, as I found this thread again while looking for something else. I didn't deliberately seek it out.

Re: The I-Ching
maybe it is time to pick it up yourself what do you think?if you like i can recommend you of some really good books. allthough i feel that to truly master the I-Ching, one should also have good knowledge of the culture it was written in.1antique wrote:Wow...this brings back memories! Re: The I-Ching
I have contemplated learning on or more of the divinations, but, so far, have not had the energy or the time to begin. Maybe right now is not the best time? Too many things to distract to be able to give my all to it.

Re: The I-Ching
for sure you know what is best for you but sometimes especially on hard times it can help and teach you how to "see" your path better. but this is only a thought and as i said, whatever you feel is the right thing for you.when ever you ready and you would like some help on the matter, let me know.

Re: The I-Ching
I find that when trying to learn how to use cards and things, drawing one a day in the morning can be good practice as you don't realise how much you're actually learning, just draw one with your morning cup of tea, study it for a few minutes, then look at it again just before you go to bed and if possible make a brief note about what it meant to you that day, you can expand much further on this but if you're very short of time this is a good way to familiarise yourself with your deck.

Re: The I-Ching
I have a regular I-Ching reading feature in another forum and I find it can be very enlightening, not purely as divination, but also as a source of wisdom. I leave it to my readers to find their own personal messages in the readings which many seem to do.
