Do any of you get smell's ?

In the wonderous realm of alternative receptivity that we broadly term mediumship. Do you sometimes pick up on a smell or aroma ?
It could be anything from perfume to flowers, Coffee to cooking and of course sadly some of the more unpleasanr aromas.
I am asking because sometimes I can pick up on residual aromas from years ago ,and sometimes get them put in my nose when I am reading

I hope I am not the only one .

Yes i get smells often especially last week i was ill and i kept smelling pipe smoke, the only person i knew that to be was my husbands grandfather, he was letting me know he was around

I smelt Coty L'aiment Talcum Powder in my living room just after my Mother passed. She always used it. It was close to me and strong
I have smelt other scents too but couldn't identify them..

Hi Lightseeker, occasionally I smell my gran's old home it's distinctive as it was an old property, i've also smelled tobacco, more recently i've smelled 'death' and what was interesting about this experience is that the last time, I was so totally bunged up I was sent a 'vision' instead.
Just last night I smelled vinegar of all things

I get tobacco a lot - and baby powder.

oooooooh baby powder that's got to be one of the nicest smells in the world I've got some burning oil that has that smell it's gorgeous

I remember once, while out in the countryside on a relaxing walk , getting of all things, the smell of TCP

Now that's a strange one Lightseeker especially out in the countryside it couldn't be anything other than spirit in those circumstances.

i still smell my grandads hair tonic now and again i think its his way of saying he is around

I have smelt my grandma's home a few times I have also smelled tobacco and my dads aftershave

I often get my nana's perfume mixed with her baking and th parkray fire, I find it comforting knowing shes there reminding me of those days

It is wonderfully re assuring when we get aromas from our childhood and growing up, I am pleased that spirit communicates with you too in this way

The smells that I get most are those of chewing tobacco (granddad), and that of a certain mint candy that my grandmom used to eat all the time. The other night I was woke up by a visitor with a very strong perfume on...but not one that I recognized.

I got an overwhelming smell of cannabis today and at first couldn't imagine who in the spirit world would send me such a smell, but I think I know who it is now as they smoked it in their youth, way before my time.

OH totally that is one of at time the KEY that tells me that I have the RIGHT person for somoene. I too use all 5 senses when I am with Spirit.
The lady at the fragrance counter is now used to me coming in and trying to describe the scnent I have around me and will let me smell different fragrances that might be that. Knowing that I am at times trying to solve a mystery. There too is a down side of that as well as I get the more negative smells as well. The smell of how one has passed ( sparing graphic details ).

I sometimes get smell in the residual also, It seems to work in the absence of visitation as well. .

Yes I would agree. Yesterday it was " electrial wire burning " that went with no further message nor did it mean anything to one's I know.
Could be part of a large puzzle to come. I do keep notes of such things just incase more flows in.

My Father always smoked a particular brand of cigarettes, I can always smell them when he is with me. This smell of tobacco smoke was my first experience of smells.
Today I often pick up a perfume or deodorant smell when spirit is close.
My sense of smell in this earthly plane is almost non existent, so if i am picking up a smell then I know it is spirit.
Thankfully i have not experienced a really nasty one.

Years ago I got a really strong smell of Ladies compact powder, just the same as my Nan used to wear. I was never close to her as my parents divorced when I was young, and then I never saw my Nan that often, but I guess it was her letting me know that she was around.
One other time I smelt my late mother inlaws perfume in my house soon after she passed, but nothing else since.

It's a good way of letting you know they're around, it's very gentle.
