Re: On Being Authentic
A few days ago the meditation topic was authenticity. An interesting distinction was made between authenticity
and saying whatever pops into the mind without filter. :))

Re: On Being Authentic
Good example of how it's possible to still have a filter (e.g. employing sensitivity) and still be authentic.Native spirit wrote: I am very Authentic i speak my mind im very straight and to the point but i would'nt hurt you either

In my youth (sooo long ago now!), I used to be somewhat brash and got a buzz about being so blatantly honest/direct i.e. piercing through people's pretensions. I still loathe pretentiousness. However I've since found a way of still staying true to myself but somewhat toning down the intensity of my reply where appropriate. (I can still be feisty though if I need to be!)

Re: On Being Authentic
It just matters that i'm honest with myself. In such a dysfunctional and insane society i have to be deceitful to some degree. Otherwise the herd of sheep can suddenly turn to raging, violent wolves if you drop a few truth bombs on their merry-go-round existence.

It's still possible to be authentic and convey truth to others without it being too volatile.Peppermint wrote:It just matters that i'm honest with myself. I've learnt to be tactful! It's all in the phrasing.

Re: On Being Authentic
It's good to be authentic to oneself and others, it is where we allow ourselves to be in the space of our heart, and the seat of our soul. It is our link to how all things interconnect.
