Strange sounds from the sky...a global phenomenon!

I don't know quite what to make of this and have never heard it myself, although a chat room member said he was hearing
it the other day.  He is in Somerset.

Have you heard it?  Whether you have or have not, any thoughts on this phenomenon?

Yes, I have heard it, I have no idea what is causing it though.

There's a small town not far from me (in Oregon) that experiences a mysterious sound.  I've never heard it, but the mysterious sound has no explanation, and has made the news all over the USA.

It is interesting that we've never heard of these sounds until recently.
Hmmm is right.

I have asked about this phenomenon elsewhere and it would seem that it is an established hoax, i.e. many youtube vids were around like this in 2012 prophecising doom.


I asked about how to detect a fake/hoax youtube vid and was given the following info:-


I don't think there is a simple way to detect a video as being fake. Some of the things that have been pointed out here at U-M are:
1. Fake UFO vids  have a highly detailed UFO in an otherwise blurry background
2. Ghosts are insects flying close tot he camera
3. Videos begin shooting before anything interesting is happening
4. People in the videos react to an incident before anything happens
5. Sounds are added to videos
6. Noticeable editing such as jumps in the action
7. The video shows nothing of interest but the narration makes unusual claims about the video
8. The video source is a group or person known to push fake videos
9. The videos are recycled videos that other stories attached to them at some point in time
10. The narration does not match the origin of the video. An example is a video showing a place and the narrator states it is somewhere else.
