You could buy these at one time but i've not seen them for donkeys years, do they still make them, are they a better alternative to tobacco? I tried one once a long time ago but it was revolting, does anyone else remember them?

Re: Herbal Cigarettes
Jeez yeah! I used to roll my own with a Rizzla roller and licorice paper. They burned and smelled like a garden bonfire! And the smoking mix was so cheap too - could make scores from a pound of mix. But I also smoked regular tobacco - how weird that sounds - me smoking - gotta be nearly 40 years ago - seems like another lifetime...

Re: Herbal Cigarettes
They sell ones at a gas station close to me, they're called American Spirits. And they're god awful, lol. Apparently they're 100% natural, though I still don't see the point

Re: Herbal Cigarettes
Hi guys, thanks for your responses I just wondered if they might be a better alternative for me, so I could still smoke but without all the junk they put into tobacco.

It looks like the lack of nicotine is a good thing but high carbom monoxide levels are bad - it's an old BBC page so maybe the new mixes are less harmful?

Re: Herbal Cigarettes
Are Herbal Cigarettes Healthy?
Herbal
cigarettes look similar to regular cigarettes, but instead of containing
tobacco, they contain herbs (most commonly ginseng, jasmine, passion
flower, and marshmallow). Many people know herbs are healthy for you, so
"are herbal cigarettes healthy for you?" Although they may be
considered healthier for you than cigarettes containing tobacco, they
are not healthy for you. If you already smoke tobacco, herbal cigarettes
can be a better choice because they do not contain nicotine or
additives found in tobacco (of course, it is best to quit smoking all together). The dangers of
smoking herbal cigarettes are the same as smoking regular cigarettes
when inhaled. They both produce harmful toxins, including tar and carbon
monoxide. Tar burns tiny hairlike structures (called cilia) in
the respiratory tract (bronchial tubes), which are responsible for
trapping harmful particles, thus preventing them from entering the
lungs. Tar is associated with lung diseases and can cause lung cancer.
Someone who smokes 20 cigarettes a day, can breathe in almost a cup of
tar in one year. Carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas, is absorbed
into the blood from the lungs. It blocks oxygen from being absorbed into
the blood and prevents red blood cells from carrying oxygen to body
tissues, including muscle, the brain, and the heart. Immediate effects
from carbon monoxide in cigarettes can cause an increased [color:92c4=#3399CC ! important][color:92c4=#3399CC ! important]heart [color:92c4=#3399CC ! important]rate
and shortness of breath. Over time, carbon monoxide exposure can
contribute to fat buildup on the walls of arteries, lead to heart [color:92c4=#3399CC ! important][color:92c4=#3399CC ! important]disease, and cause heart
failure. There is another type of "[color:92c4=#3399CC ! important][color:92c4=#3399CC ! important]herbal" cigarette that is
actually more dangerous than regular cigarettes. These are called clove
cigarettes, also known as kreteks. They contain roughly 60% tobacco and
40% ground cloves. According to the American Lung Association, clove
cigarettes deliver twice as much tar, carbon monoxide, and nicotine as
regular cigarettes. Are herbal cigarettes healthy? No. The
dangers of smoking herbal cigarettes can be just as deadly as regular
cigarettes.

good luck if/when you do want to stop - think of the money you'd not be spending - does that help?

Re: Herbal Cigarettes
No lol, unfortunately there is no incentive big enough, i'm a long time smoker, I smoke in my garden so i'm not bugging others, I enjoy smoking, I don't drink or anything else, maybe one day i'll give up but for now, no. Thanks for the good luck wishes though
