i don't know, i'm just thinking out laud here.
5 pointed start pointing up- life, earth power growing, moving up, becoming more spiritual, more subtle energy.
red: the basic life energy, surviving? as if maybe moving from a stage of surviving and working to sustain life into the next level of feeling safe, need not to worry only about food and water and sustain life but to be able to live and create?

You could have something there. It came to my mind..red star...red dwarf star - a star that has finished doing what stars do and is older and starts contracting and moving into a more final stage.
