You're across country towards the east.
I'm in a small country town down from Huntington.
About 19 miles?
We're neighbours practically.

Down there to the left of that tree, straight past the Post Office, the pub and the church, turn right twice, carry on till you get to the market place, then turn around, go left twice, follow a straight line till you reach the tree, then go right and carry on up.
That's where you'll find me.

Re: where are you from
I don't, Beware_of_Italics.
There are trees, a Post Office, pubs, churches and market places in towns and cities too you know.
The country was where your imagination took you because it was the image conjured up in your mind as the one you find most appealing.
I'm glad to have been the artist who painted a pretty picture for you.

Re: where are you from
What it reminded me of was the movie "Funny Farm," (I think that's the right movie; either that or "The Egg & I") when they ask for directions to their new home out in the country.
Actually, I think a lot of movies have descriptions like that when a person asks for directions out in the country.

Re: where are you from
Hi!
Germany, Bavaria, Franconia.
In that town having the highest per capita consumption of beer worldwide.
Unesco World Heritage Site.
And yet I'm thinking about moving to England. Sometimes. Whenever I'm convinced of the fact that spiritualism is in Great Britain - but not in Germany - at home.
But it gets better here... Give us 200 years and some bavarians will think there could be anything after death.... Maybe!

Re: where are you from
Karin (hi) perhaps all the Bavarian spiritualists are hiding in the closet because they don't want to appear different to what seems to be the main stream, and so there might be many more than you think. (?)
Beautiful Bavaria. I have visited Munich, but never during the Oktoberfest.

Re: where are you from
Hi Deepwaters!
I hoped I could find them via internet... Everybody has internet in a closet, or not?
The problem is: Bavaria is "very katholic" in relation to the rest of
Germany - and the Christian Church is NOT compatible with spiritualism.
In my hometown a pair (man und woman) without a marriage certificate
some years ago had problems to rent an apartment... and protestantic
Christians still have problems to get a job here... The katholic church
in my hometown ist the fourth-biggest employer and so the church
makes its own rules: No relationship to a divorced man or woman - or you have
to go.
That's no joke, believe me. This year on Good Friday (I mean the friday
before Easter) I saw the first time people eating a cutlet instead of
fish... That was a revolution.
That's Bavaria. In West- or North-Germany people laugh about us.
Whenever I find a German medium via internet or a spiritual circle...
always this people are far away from my home.
A good decision! The next time visit franconia. You will love it!!!

Re: where are you from
I have forgotten most of the little bit of German I used to know. I blame it on old age.
I never could get used to warm beer, but did enjoy a good halbe once in a while.
