Lovely pics norseman thanks for sharing, they should place pics like that in stressful or worrying places, such as dr's waiting rooms and such you can't help but feel calm when you gaze at them, I always associate blues with healing too

Old Seaham, just a mile away from me. A triumph of reclaiming of old coal fields.

When I had visited a new dentist a few years back, they had pictures of sky and mountain scenery on the ceilings.  Its amazing how something like that can set your mind at ease.

Beautiful pictures btw, reminds me of my roots.

The last two pictures fascinate me,Norseman.....

The splurge of water......reminds me of the surf in Australia.
    Full of energy...

Empty beaches.....Not in the old days.   Crowds sitting on the beach, not an inch to spare.
Parents afraid of children getting lost among the crowds.

I remember walking along a beach way up in Bamburgh?    Bitter cold day and just my husband and I walking along the beach.  Happy memories....

I haven't been up there for years,Norseman.   Another time,my son was over from Australia.    So we took him for a walk on that beach.     He made the comment   'I would love to dive (scuba) below that water'!

    It was a cold winter's day.....Brrr.

May I ask how many years have you been involved in photography?    Your pictures are perfect....

" Your pictures are perfect." :giggles:

I have been into photography for 20 years [about] but it's only the last few years with a digital camera that I got "snap-happy". I have a middle range bridge camera, fully auto, with an 32 giga-byte SD card. So, no real expense in taking photos. The 32 GB card allows me to take about 9000 shots if need be. I then look at them on the computer and delete about 90% of them, keeping the best. Then saved to my PC and loaded into Photobucket [I have a Pro-account there, so I can save as many as I want] . I rarely make prints. Camera also takes video.
So, it's all in the camera, Joan

I was talking to my son earlier and telling him about your photos.
He was quite interested being a bit of photographer himself at one time.

Doesn't do so much of it now.  He used to take beautiful photos of coral etc plus many old wrecks buried deep in the sea.
He was asked a while ago to dive on a mining project.
Not sure exactly what was happening but to retrieve some object which had fallen from the main machinery.   He did that dive in about 20 mins.   All through automatic means.
I was quite proud of him.

Must tell him about the camera you have.....he will be quite interested.

Fuji Finepix - only £100, quite cheap as cameras go. [ :giggles:mind the SD card was £50 on top of that]

That's not a bad price.    I bought a Pentax camera in Oz,for approx $200 and that on sale.   That was back in 2007.  Still going strong but good enough for what I need.    An amateur photographer.  Thinking of changing it,what would you suggest for easy photography.....

I DO like my Fuji - it takes great shots but it is bulky - not the sort of thing to slip into your pocket. My last camera was a Samsung Compact Digital Camera and that was powerful but pocket size. Stupidly, I traded it in for the Fuji.
That is the type I would recommend to you, Joan, and you are spoilt for choice in that catagory. Go online for Currys and they have a lot of special offers. Look for one with built-in rechargeable battery and an SD card slot - all the big makes are much of a muchness - all of them do video as well.
Lately, I have wandering with my Blackberry Tablet and using the photo feature of that.
Here is a short video I took two days ago with the Blackberry.
    https://s282.photobucket.com/user/norseman_photo/media/VID_00000021_zps0b687db1.mp4.html

Other photos in this thread were taken with the Fuji and my mobilephone. The mobilephone shots have c.norseman in the Photobucket address. The Fuji shots have DFCS -  hard to tell the difference really.

I just found this in a sub-directory on my camera. Odd that I missed because it's my best shot of the Up Helly Aa festival in Shetland
