On booking a session from a medium,do you feel sometimes that a medium can be genuine or not?
What signs do you receive that a medium just might not be genuine?

Yes, I think you get a feeling immediately after the booking, it's hard to describe the feeling.

I recently booked a session with a healer and had an odd feeling that it was a mistake immediately after booking it.  On the day I felt that I didn't really want to go and had a truly dreadful journey there, I almost rang to cancel but didn't.  The healing session itself was OK, but then I couldn't get away for hours because the healer poured out all their problems to me - I was absolutely drained by it and so didn't feel any benefit from the healing.  Next time I hope I will take notice of my intuition.

That sense of 'knowing'.    Feeling that it is not going to go very well.
I have felt that a few times with mediums.    I remember going to see a well known medium.    I just knew I wasn't going to receive a message.....

Which was strange because I felt my husband right beside me that evening.
That is not saying that the medium was not any good.

I had a strong feeling I knew the reason why!

I would think that if the medium is asking you too many questions, like he/ she is trying to get information from you ... that he/she might not be genuine, most likely not genuine

and I wouldn't just walk into one of those psychic shops with the neon sign in the window... that would be a first clue !

    I don't offer any information

I can understand them charging for a service... but I like to know it's genuine

Usually find them at fun fairs now.    The 'Hoppins' as we used to call them...

The only reason I can think of is...because a lot of the rides were on the old roundabouts as we called them.   Kids used to 'hop on' the 'horses' as they went round.
