Howdy, my name is Cody I'm a 26 year old male from texas. Part Chickasaw and Cherokee with just enough white man for you to question my honesty:evil: . I'm into native spirituality-- especially native psychology. I was invited by a navajo brother (thanks Thunder_Bow) and look foreword to exchanging discussions with you all.:peace:

    Thanks!

Hi, how is East Texas? I love a bit north of Austin which is south central TX. I grew up way up north (North Dakota/Minnesota) though and haven't been out East here yet.

Wooded and swampy, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I was going to say that it's cold here, but I think Texas cold and North Dakota cold are different. Anywho, thanks for the welcomes everybody!

avianscepter wrote:Hey Cody, have you tried to pursue any headdress rights since you are far into native spirituality?  I will never touch that stuff because I love eating pizza so much.  Oh Cody, look into norse and celtic spirituality so may notice some matches to native ones in America.
    also hello from Nevada.

It's a slippery legal slope, federal migratory bird laws seems to be the shady area of the law. I personally don't have and or need a headdress per say; but the possessing of feathers and "other" religious sacraments seems to be generally ok As long as one has a CDIB card. I've personally never had any trouble out of the authorities but the old saying go's "I can beat the rap, but not the ride".

By applying for a federal permit to own migratory bird feathers, one could sleep easy at night. I haven't the need mainly because I don't have a house full of feathers. A few Feathers for personal religious purposes is all the CDIB covers. Buying and selling feathers is the big no no..
I've only been questioned once by a Texas parks and wildlife official, he was cool with it. But perhaps that's not the case for all. I've heard stories of people getting the book thrown at them, but "my papers" are in order so it would come down to a courts decision-- if I ever get the free ride..

TX?  Big, mostly flat and often boring to travel through.  Some areas are pretty though.
