and if so what tips would you give to someone attempting to visualise?

Yes, I do find it really easy. My imagination is really vivid - I'm one of those people who reads a book and sees a movie in my head instead of words.

Yes, I do and I create little stories throughout my day too. Little comedies, dramas, love stories... I am told over and over again that I need to write them down and expand on them but I never do. Writing them in words seems to take the magic away. I think I become irritated with regular day to day living stuff because it takes me away from my stories. It would be better for me if I focused more and set aside a time for my creations, that's for sure.

Perhaps I need to let my imagination run wild and see where it takes me one day..... or when for that matter.

I think that's always a good thing. If you're looking for spirit to communicate through images in your mind or to create a story for you, it's important to let go of control of what we might see and let them make it happen. It just may be that it's not the easiest way for them to come through to you.
I'm not sure how one could improve their visualization skills except to practice. Maybe think of a pleasant scene or something really small, really focus on the details. Like when you were a kid and you'd lie in the grass and look at the bugs on the soil - later on, you could sort of think of how that looked. And the image doesn't have to be crystal clear either - my images are often fuzzy or indistinct around the edges. Maybe just focus on one detail and let it grow from there. And don't be worried about holding all the parts together - if you think about ants and your mind wants to go to the detail of the dirt, then don't try to hold onto the ants... y'know?
Just some thoughts - maybe someone else has some ideas to share as well?

Re: Do you find visualisation easy...
When I do visualiation meditations I find it hard to see the difference between my own imagination and what (if anything) is coming from spirit.

Re: Do you find visualisation easy...
Visualisation is what you create in your own mind
When I do a visualisation meditation I create a scene in my mind, for example a clearing in the woods, to make this stronger, I see flowers, trees, birds, butterflies, I smell the flowers I feel the grass beneath my feet, I hear water, I feel the warmth of a hazy sun then I sit in this rich vibrant scenery of my own making and wait taking the visualisation no further.
When I sit and wait in this scene of my own making my spirit guide might come into the visualisation except he is not a visualisation he is real, he is spirit, if he talks to me it is from him and not my mind.
When you visualise and create a beautiful place you are taking your mind into another 'zone' you are relaxed, at peace this is why it's important to create a beautiful place full of the things you love so you are relaxed and in a calm place where spirit communication is possible.
Before you even begin to visualise you can ask your guide to join you there, it's also well worth fdoing a \relaxation excercise before the visualisation meditation.
