I had two on my yard yesterday ..I sometimes collect feathers when i am out walking.my motherinlaw used to be scared of white feathers for some strange reason..

I just asked husband and he said its because she was very superstisious and believed in people doing magic and white feathers were one of their tools.. 
Once my husband and his brother burst a feather pillow and put a trail down teh stairs she nearly had a heart attack..

A little white feather floated down here past my patio door and landed on a leaf the other day so i went out and collected it to put with my treasures..i looked up at sky but could see no bird so i havnt a clue where it came from..

yes it was a strange place i often browse in hedgerows etc for little things and its a wonder i dont fall off bike as i ride along looking as i cycle.
