How did you meet/find your guide?

was at a christening! Very very bored!! was a hot summers day--church doors wide open!
I closed my eyes and visualised the church interior--moved to the open door!
A grisley bear entered and walked down the aisle. I opened my eyes and watched him walk down the aisle--he turned to me and winked!
he spent the rest of the service sitting above the church altar watching the christening!
I thought at first it was an animal totem for the child--but soon realised he was there for me.
We have been together ever since--Gris is my animal 'totem' he is there for my protection.

When I met a guide, I think it was a guide, it was over a couple of interesting dreams. I have met in dreams what have appeared to be guides, and I think each time it was a different experience. So it could be that my guides are plenty, or they change a lot depending on what I am doing at the time.

I met my guide and helpers via meditative methods and attuning my vibrations to spirit. My guide first appeared to me over 25 years ago. When I do mediumship, I don't see him, yet, I know he is organising things in the background to help with the flow of the readings.

Hi Innerlight and Skye it's interesting reading about all the different ways people meet their guides thanks for sharing your experiences, innerlight I believe you can have a number of guides.

I'm sure he'll show himself when you're ready Skye.

Hi Violet, my pevious post may have caused some misunderstanding, i've already seen my guide. There is no need for him to show himself to me for I know his energy which I feel everyime I open up to communicate with the spirit world. This lets me know he is in the background, organising the spirit communicators who wish to come forward to speak to their loved ones.

My guides have come to me just in little snippets of images. I'm not even sure it wasn't just my imagination.

It's funny actually. I woke up one night and he was staring at me. I was frightened and looks like he was too. But after a minute we introduced ourselves and things kinda went from there.

I met my Spirit Guide (I call him/her Hydro, since it's technically a lake) when I was outside one day. The sun was shining and I was sitting out by the lake in my back yard. I was looking along the shore of the lake for crystals, and when I looked up, there was this HUGE shadow in the lake. I heard someone tell me not to be afraid, and so I dipped my hand in the water and I can't explain what I felt. If you can imagine this, it was like the water replaced my blood, and I felt like I was part of the lake. Ever since then I've gone to the lake to pour out my worries hopes and accomplishments, and every time I do so I dip my hand in the water, and the same feeling comes back!

That's my personal experience with Spirit Guides.

Hi Gemma, thanks for sharing, it's funny you should mention water as water is believed to represent emotions, you obviously have an affinity with water, do you feel energised when you touch it?

Huh...never thought that I could consider it an affinity, but yes I feel very energised when I touch water. I almost feel as though the water replaces my blood and I am made of it....

I have 2 guides, Emily and St Joseph.

When I met Joseph, it was actually by accident lol, I was talking to someone online and you know when you get that feeling when something is not right, well one day I was pondering over it and whether I should log on and talk to him that night as soon as I let the thought go, I heard "He's not right for you, it will end in tears" of course I didn't listen to that guidance and logged on and it indeed end in tears that night as the guidance said, that night I asked who the voice was, and at that time I was already communicating with the angels but didn't know my guide yet but he told me he was my guide and he's been with me since I was 16 and still is

My second guide Emily, I met her in a funny way actually, it was during college and it was rather hot and I was bored and as I sat there, I called out to Joseph to talk to him and get me through that last 2 hours but what I saw next, I did NOT exspect, I saw a women and she looked from the victorian ages walk straight through the college wall and smiled at me and told me her name was Emily, I wasn't scared just shocked at the way she made her entrance, we don't communicate as much as Joseph would but she's there.

Hi Emma, i've had warnings from guides too so I know what you mean.

One of my guides wasn't very forthcoming, a few years ago now, like your Emily we didn't communicate much either.

I met my main guide, Merlin, during my Reiki 1 attunement, in 1999.
But didnt know anything about guides then.
It took a few more years til I was up to his standard.
Now we work well together :)

I'm attuned to reiki one too, it's rare I use it though, it's good to hear you're still working well together

lol Violet, we didnt start working together til last year.
I got my master attunement in 2003, was magical :)
Had it done in Dunwich Woods and again next day in ? Abbey.
I was flying lol.

I'm not surprised you were flying getting you're master, I never persued it further.

Hi Violet ,
you're not prying at all. It was shortly after I left my body (NDE/OBE) that I became aware of his presence. The overwhelming, out-of-this-world, love was unmistakable, and then he spoke to me telling me I had to go back. I regret that I never actually saw him but he was as real as this computer in front of me. Also, I could see a faintly glowing aura around me, it was a soft blue. Does that mean anything?
