animated gifs

Is it possible for me to stop the animated butterflies and text which drive me to distraction with their constant movement? I don't need to be repeatedly told that the chatroom is at the foot of the page etc.

Hi Mac i'll look into that for you I don't think it can be stopped individually though, Do you know I don't even see that anymore, I never thought it might bug people, is anyone else unhappy with it? Maybe I can just make it visible to guests or something or at least slow it down.

As I've been reading your reply, Violet, I've realised that because it's only near the top of the page that it's a nuisance, as when reading the start of a topic, writing this reply or using the buttons such as 'Home', 'Search', 'View Posts...' etc which are at the top of the page.

Maybe I'm over-sensitive but I find it extremely distracting - I've had to scroll this page, for example, to move the gif off the visible part of the page while I'm writing this reply. Haven't experienced this situation on other websites.

Any help would be very welcome....

I had to look to figure out what you were talking about, also. Maybe I just have tunnel vision, but I don't even notice it.

I love Violets butterflies, but then again, I am very biased about those little bugs!!!

Violet can you put a butterfly into the Smilies list, I would love that!

I'm the only one who's found any real discomfort. I'll find a way of coping - please don't spend your time and effort on it.

Butterflies are one of my spirit creatures...I do not notice them, but on another site...the twinkling stars I love so much mess up a good friend's computer...so, whatever!
