Hello all Mars was once like earth 577431 ,
I was watching an interesting documentary on the Nat Geo channel about Mars. Scientists believe that millions of years ago Mars was much like the earth is now. It had rivers, lakes, and seas, which leads them to believe it also had plant life and possibly forms of animal life. NASA has set a deadline of sending a manned spaceship to Mars in 2019 so they can more closely examine the planet and what lays beneath the surface.

Hi Mal, I hope they do manage to send the ship out, it would be fascinating if they did discover some evidence of life out there.

That is assuming they would reveal their findings to us, Mars was once like earth 809779 I don't think they would not for a while any way, they may well find things like that.

What ever we need for life is supplied in nature, and what ever we do not need is not supplied in nature. That being said, if there is proof that there was once water on Mars in the form of rivers and oceans, then that would prove that there was once life on mars. Water without life is simply wasted energy.

Hi czardoust Mars was once like earth 348985 ,
yes I totally agree with you on that last sentence. Which also brings me to another thought - was there intelligent life on Mars and if so what became of them?

That life probably came here and helped shape the home we call Earth.

Hi czardoust Mars was once like earth 348985 ,

I'm so glad you said that because I tend to believe that that was what happened. I don't mean to step on any 'evolutionist's' toes but I don't think man just happened. It seems a more logical theory to me that 'man' has existed throughout the cosmos for possibly billions of years. Eventually the earth will become uninhabitable and man will again have the technology to reach another far distant planet.
