Re: Snake?
Hi Violet, I think we always think of the worst things about snakes....but as a power animal, I would think of the positive things about a snake and how his characteristics might help in certain situations.
Snakes are always very much in touch with nature...their bodies always are totally in touch with whatever they are moving upon...the ground, a tree, rocks.
They do their own thing and are happy to be on their own.
They live in their own power and will attack if provoked to defend themselves....not cower and let their power be easily taken away.
They can blend into their surroundings and are not usually easily noticed.
I don't know if you can think of any more ways a snake's characteristics might be of help.
I think the being totally in touch with where I am...grounded (for me this is something I can't easily do) and being able to blend in and still do my own thing...be me and be happy to do that ...might be an advantage for me....and I don't always feel in my power enough to defend myself.

Re: Snake?
SNAKES
* Psychic energy, creative power, immortality
* Understanding connections with Spirit
* Facing your fears on spiritual initiations and life problems, moving to higher goals
SUPERSTITIONS
* A ring in the shape of a Snake is said to bring long life and good health to the owner
* An old superstition, is that a Snake will not die til the Sun goes down

snakes
sankes are a symbol of healing for ancient times, the original design for healing used to be a chalice , a dagger and a snake. the dagger was was a representation of surgery, the chalice represented medicine and the snake represented healing. the dagger was placed inthe chalice and the snake wrapped itself round the chalice.
snakes are always grounded or connected to the ground be it via a tree branch etc...
although one or two can leave the ground to attack their prey as they throw themselves through the air but that not at a great height.
snake medicine is as powerful as the snake bite itself .
love and light

Re: Snake?
Snakes in dreams or journey's are about spiritual change and growth, shedding the old and being still while awaiting the new,(the skin) as we grow we learn a little more and so some of what was right yesterday may not be right for today, the snake as a power animal helps with the process of letting go and changing in whatever way we need to. we may feel vulnerable as we face the unknown when we are going through changes in life, the snake teaches us that shedding is a natural part of life and we will become stronger every time we go through the process.
