This knowledge was quite the shock for me . Never in a million years I will have figure this out. Of all the things I could have been, this was one I could have never guess on my own. It helped me to explain some unusual interest that I have and some of the spiritual experiences I had in the past. Some of my experiences are quite unusual even when in comparison with others people experiences. In fact I haven't to this date found someone that have experience something similar.
I was a women that lived probably on the city of Uruk in Babylonia a few thousand years ago; Babylonia is one of the most oldest civilizations. I was a priestess that adored a moon-fertility deity that goes by the name of Ishtar. Ishtar was the Babylonian goddess of war/love and fertility. On their pantheon she was very high in place.
In the past all religions were more of a female god than a male one. People adore various aspect of the goddess. In antiquity, human sexuality and the religious attitude were inseparable. Sex and fertility were an important aspects of these religions. These cultures valued sexual intercourse as both a spiritual practice and a potent method for restoring balance to the psyche, harmonizing the disturbed soul, and healing the sick.
The priestesses sexual energy was view as sacred. From early childhood they were trained in all the arts: dance, rhythm, and music, as well as ritual and meditation, reading and writing, philosophy, religion, and mythology. They were ritually worshipped as embodiments of the goddess.
The interesting part of my story is how I received this knowledge. It was not through a regression. There were clues here and there and some unusual experiences:
a)-One time I was in my room trying to get some sleep. It was around 10 pm. I was looking at the wall that is next to my bed when suddenly words started to appear from nowhere in the wall, they where characters; I could not understand the meaning behind them and I freaked out and turn my face off the wall. When I looked again there was nothing in there. It took me a while to figure what those characters were. .They were akkadian language an ancient cuneiform writing that was used in old Babylon and Assyria around 2000 B.C. You know the funny thing about this?...that I in a joking way I used to call my style of writing cuneiform :P , because few people could understand it .
b)-My spiritual awakening...guess where it started..*drums*....in a sexology class. When a teacher of mine said that she was a catholic but that she believes in reincarnation; at the end of the class I asked her why she say that and told me her story and recommended a book...Many master many lives from Brian Weiss..a classic for those that start reading about reincarnation. I find that hilarious , the end of my journey was exactly where I began. You will agree that is quite a strange theme to be discussed on a sexology class in a catholic college.
c)-I have always been fascinated by this painting; it was love at first sign:
:
d)- I was in my bed meditating and I fall into kind of a trance. There I hear two men speaking a strange language and the only thing that I understood was the name Ishtar. Also I hear a baby crying and in my hand was kind of soft and hard object. I investigate and that object could have been an ancient symbol called the knot of inanna. That many researchers think that the modern crux used by bishop are derived from it.The upper part of the knot was made of a bundle of reeds(soft) and the lower part was made of wood(like a cane, hard). Reading I found that the only people that used this kind of "cane" where the high priestesses know as entu.
e)-Since little I have view sex as something sacred but not in the biblical sense...I always felt that it was so much more. Also I have an unusual interest in pregnancy and the moon. All that have a relationship with Isthar.
There are so many coincidences and others experiences. I have been also draw to the concept of duality: male and women, sun and the moon, dark and light.
Sometimes to figure out who we where in the past we just need to paid attention to the things we are draw, specially if they are unusual. I believe that most of the time remembering our past lives is not important and sometimes it can get in the way of our current learning experience( one of the reason why we "lost" our past memories). Mostly went we remember them is because it is important for the current lifetime. In my case I remember this because I want to help to restore the balance between male and female relationships and restore sex to the sacred place it has in the past. I still laugh when I say this because for a long time my life plan was to live as an hermit in a remote cabbin cottage . This was like asking a blind people to guide you through the darkness but apparently this is one of my purpose in this lifetime.
Hope that you enjoyed my little story .
