That I have found is that doing self healing later on in the day or doing a healing session on yourself for something you are facing at a late time. Can give you to much energy that can keep you up late. So if you had plans at night, and were a little nervous about them, or how they go, and you give yourself some calming energies. The down side is that you will probably now be up later than you would normally plan to.

Re: One Down Side of Reiki
Though i'm attuned to reiki one it's rare that I actually use it, preferring my other method, I find it relaxes people so well it actually helps them sleep

Yes, it does help others sleep, and can be good for insomnia. I'm more talking about working on self. I guess it's because you are the channel for the energy so you are getting a boost, as it flows through you.

Re: One Down Side of Reiki
Yes, I don't do much self healing, only when I need it. It's weird my hands are hotter when I need it, and if I place it on the area that needs it it's really warm. Though it doesn't give me a huge energy boost in the aspect of bouncing off the walls.I've only had that happen once, and that was doing a healing on someone. But when trying to sleep it's nigh impossible to fall asleep anytime soon.

Re: One Down Side of Reiki
Yeah I know what you mean about bouncing of the walls, I get that a lot after healings and readings and that can make it difficult to sleep

Re: One Down Side of Reiki
This shouldn't happen. If it does then you are overloading yourself and not channelling through but rather being the end, blocking the channel and being a recipient. Next time open the flow allow the energy to go through you and balance and allow the excess to leave and go back to the source to help another. It's easily done, especially if you don't self heal a lot. Think of yourself as two people, you , the healer and the patient too then send, recieve and carry on :) This will you leave you totally relaxed and your sleep will be repairing :)

Thanks, Crystal, I will have to try that the next time I'm in a pickle and need some healing.

Re: One Down Side of Reiki
I also feel very relaxed after giving a reiki session, and I even self heal in bed to help me drift off sometimes.
You could try 'shaking' or 'brushing' the energy off when you have finished your healing session by simply shaking/brushing you arms, hands legs etc. and seeing the excess energy falling to the ground and returning to source. - might be worth a try....
Blessed be
