Re: Suggestions for hot flushes?
There are several things I used to do to deal with it (sadly not prevent it occurring):-
- Always wear natural fabrics. Synthetics don't allow the skin to breathe
- When I start to feel hot I'd go to a sink and allow cold water to run over my wrists for a few minutes. The coolness quickly travels through the body.
- I'd never be without a small water spray. You can buy empty spray containers from a chemist. I'd fill it with water and keep it in a fridge (before popping it into my bag when leaving). In fact, I had it down to a fine art....a couple of hours before I'd leave I'd place the filled spray container (minus the top bit with the spray tube) into a freezer. It would be virtually solid ice when I removed it, hence keeping cool for longer.
- Also, I'd shamelessly go into a pub and ask if I could have a glass of water with ice. Most places will oblige (especially if you look a little poorly!). I'd then drink it keeping an ice cube to run over my neck and forehead as I left. Are these confessions or what!?

Soya milk? Natural oestrogens perhaps? Also a cologne spray on the neck :)
