a stupid mistake

normally i don't clean my new crystals, a sort of belief i have that if i pick up a crystal or being picked up by a crystal then there is something within its energy that is meant to me, so for a while i keep and use it uncleaned. 
i also should say that normally i get my own crystals, 
but it was one of those rare times when i got a very nice quartz crystal pendent as a gift from  a dear friend of mine, it is rep with a wire so you can hang it on a necklace of something like that and i must admit i didn't stop to think , i just put it on a chain and had it on me today, and after a while i noticed the very stupid and big mistake i made, something with the energy was not right for me, though i know it was bought we good intentions, still...i should had clean it first before using it. :(

well will do so soon...thought i'm not sure about the wire.. i can't take it out and i fear the water might harm the wire...not sure salt is good either...well will think of something

Lol, I Had similar problem with a amethyst I got, a heart pendant. the wire bit has gone rusty now.

Would wearing a crystal on a silver chain affect the power of the crystal?

Silver has its own property, I found it crushed my throat chakra, was bit too much, but then before this when i got my amethyst I put it on a silver chain and it helped energy go threw me better. I guess it depends on the person.

Personally since getting ill last year I havnt been the same, im just getting to do chakra work now. So depends on your spiritual strength.

Silver is also for protection, so is gold but gold had apparently bad effects also, depends on person.

Hense why the slay isit vampires with silver? lol.

Apparently gold with silver equals bad energies of gold.


I think one mor elikely to gets more temperamental with it.

I wear gold necklaces with silver pendants and have never had an issue..
some of my pendants I have wrapped with copper and wear with gold necklaces..


you can place your pendants with wire wrapping in the sun, or full moon light...or smudge them with sage or incense, also you can place your pendant on a piece of quartz or amethyst or selenite for cleansing....

i live in the city big city and the air here is far from being clean, this is why i don't like to place my crystal out in the sun or moon, i know it is stupid as i wear them around or place them here and there and they sit inside this dirty air, but, it feels somewhat  a contradiction to purify  them or clean them out in this air...

can you explain about the sage thing?

i thought i'd use some healing on it as well, but i feel now i want to wash it, so i guess healing alone will not do.

Part bury them in plant pots over night and then clean under running cold water..

the water thing is a problem in this situation :)

i actually heard that a lot - to bury a crystal for a while and then take it out again.. personally i feel funny about it, can't stop myself from thinking about death.

I had heard of burying crystals outside in the yard, but never in the flower pots idea. Less chance of them getting lost inside. I am thinking though, that burying the crystals then washing them off in the water is like double work ? why bury them in the first place ?

strange on the thoughts about death though.... unless you are dealing with a recent death, that might remind you ?

couldn't you just set it out in the sunshine or the moonlight and skip the burying or washing it off idea ?

i think i'm going to try the sage thing.. never heard about  it before and would like to give it a try.
outside, the air is not clean so it doesn't feel right.

why bury them in the first place ?

I might be way off as I'm no expert with crystals but don't they come from the earth and wouldn't burying them 'replenish' their energies, or am I wrong, i'm sure i've heard something along those lines

I think sage thing is funny, sometimes people walk in and I have the feeling they think its weed!

well i have to admit, a couple of years ago when i was trying to grow sage myself, i had the seedlings growing on windowsill inside, and everyone whom asked what it was, i said 'weed' lol.....

out of all seeds I now have four plants growing amazingly well outside...especially for our climate..so im happy :))
