Hi to all

Hello to all,

My name is Andy. I'm 40something and a romantic, hippy-philosopher type of creature. I'm also a singer-songwriter and absolutely love music, harmony, frequency, and the connection it brings to all things. I'm a bit of a loner, and  I've been interested in life's mysteries as far back as I can remember. I've made a few unusual and painful choices in my life, so I'm probably more lost now than I've ever been...but that's OK I guess :)

Hi Gypsy, and thank you for the welcome   

Generally, I write songs that I enjoy playing myself, and not especially for anyone else - although that's not always the case.

Musically, well...its quite a mixture! I love melody, so I don't really ride on any particular genre -  I just pick and choose aspects to fit where appropriate.

One of the most important things for me is that songs have meaning and are sung with passion. "Sing it from the f*****g heart" as Bill Hicks so eloquently put it. I'm not too fussed on writing about relationships though. Nothing wrong with that, but for me. its not always easy to sing openly about personal stuff. Besides, there's already a lot of ineffectual drivel floating atop the toilet bowl of popular culture, and I think its just plain dishonest for folks to go whining to the rest of the world about stuff that they have no direct experience with :)

My songs do indeed incorporate elements of mysticism and spirituality (sometimes with a healthy dose of humour to further lighten the load) - but not exclusively. Adventure, discovery, reminiscence, sexuality - all trusted allies in the songwriter's almanac ;) - and probably unsurprisingly, my lyrics are sometimes a little cynical and edgy. But then, you can deliver ideas and concepts in many disguises.

Suffice to say though, that my songs are always melodic -  for me, there is no better way to connect with someone's heart.

Hi, there, Wanderer-Do you do any performing? To me, performing is one of the biggest thrills. For awhile, I was doing it at an amateur level with a drummer, lead guitar player/co-songwriter, and a bass player.
  This sent me into some beautiful dreams about success in that. The dreaming was good, but it could be hard to work with other people.
   Have  you ever been in a band? It sounds like you are not in one now.

I would be interested to hear some of the songs or see the lyrics. Words fascinate me more than music, but I like both. That goes for Gyspy dream as well as Wanderer - or anyone. 

I don't remember if I have done much of this on this forum - but I do like to write poetry, and I like it to be both mystical and Spiritual.

nutty nice, and slip and slide a good one.

We are all loners in some kind of way . 
I used to be an outgoing person til the day that I started on this crazy ride they call the ascension. I Hate that word now ,) 
It's about 10 years ago and I am 30 now , at least for one more month. 

I'm also a singer songwriter , but have no big plans on making it. Maybe cause I 'm not good enough hehe. I write on a book on seduction.. That's gonna be a good read. 

I will try to write a poem now ;) just to see if i'm in the zone;


I call it the loner :


The loner.

I see in every person i meet ,
something that I can love and greet. 
A smile or a look , maybe a touch or a hug,
before i crawl back in my hole , like a bug.

The loner is a man with a broken heart ,
a soul on the path to get old,
he never dear to open his heart ,
he should have listen to what he's been told.

To many sad people in the world,
People who needs a smile,
They can't see the light that shines all around,
If they only could, just for a while.

The meaning to life , what can it be,
If only I new the right word,
Money and fame can't be what we seek,
Love is the meaning I've heard.
