That is straight forward. What exactly is prayer? It is a time to ask for things that you want? To thank for things? To bring about communion with a deity. Do you need it for any of these things?

I suppose, not being christian, a prayer must be the equivalent with ourselves thanking the Divine Source, Gods and Goddesses and our Spirit Guides. Basically its a form of communication with the source of spiritual energy via 'a God or Goddess'. Maybe.

When you think of praying you get an image in mind of someone kneeling down, clasping their hands and lowering their heads, when in fact we pray all the time without ever doing those three things, how many times do we say 'god help them' when we see something tragic on the news, we say 'god help me' when we know we are in trouble, when someone is ill we may say' god if you're up there please help' how often do we say 'thank god' when someone comes home safely, I could go on, but we do it all they time, often without even noticing, isn't this prayer too?

Zach makes a good point. Spells/ prayer are a way of asking/munipulating the energies to do something for you. The only real thing that prayor doesnt mention is the karma aspect. You do a binding spell on someone, and dont put the proper karma back, youll be binded 3 times worse.
The MAIN thing, is that you dont pray, or cast against anyones will, or negativley. Never do a spell that has negative effects! or wish or pray! The world even though it seems like it, doesnt run on negativity. Energy asked, to be used MUST be balanced out, or "the powers that be" will do it for you.
I know sounds really negative lol. But we just need to not wish harm or anything of the such in wishing, prayor, or spell casting!

The amount of people who openly wish harm on others is appalling, i've been really shocked sometimes over the years.
