How sure are you? - Page 2 Empty How sure are you?

Post  Violet Thu Nov 19, 2009 10:28 pm

    First topic message reminder :

    That there is an afterlife?

I'm definately sure, but due to recent discussions offline I've realised that not all are sure even those who are quite spiritually minded, it seems to be more of a hope that there will be one rather than truly believing in one, what are your thoughts on this?

How sure are you? - Page 2 Empty No doubt

Post  Sapienza Fri Dec 02, 2011 11:18 pm

I can pinpoint the day that I realized that there is life after death...was the day that I understand that we aren't our bodies. Was the day I had my first out of body experience. We aren't even inside our bodies at the moment :med:.. That's a question that have perplexed philosophers, scientific and people from different backgrounds of life: where is the self?...but that's another topic :goodvibes: .
Nevertheless, even if we are "eternal"...try to live this life as it were the only one. Each day is really precious and offers us lots of opportunity to grow and continue our personal evolution. Just my two cents :eyeroll:

Isn't it important to you to know who that was?

    Not really!!

We are discussing ideas and views in here, the personality of those who post is not as important as their words! In the 'REAL' world it would be the other way round, but 'HERE' is not the real world. I am here to discuss ideas of a spiritual nature--the physical world is where I worry about exactly who said what-'sadly'

Why do you now bring personality into the matter? Take a look at what you wrote.

You lectured me in your earlier piece how I should behave, quote: "Sorry 'mac' you need to tune in!" "You must first accept the physical and spiritual parts of us humans before you can even begin to understand! "

So it's hypocritcal to lecture now that "We are discussing ideas and views in here, the personality of those who post is not as important as their words" when it was you who introduced the personality element in the first place by implying I was lacking in understanding....

    Sorry again mac

I must disagree - the physical and spiritual are two key parts of a human being. But the physical part is much much more than just personality!!!

When I talk of the physical side I am certainly not equating it with personality.

Oops, sorry. I should read more carefully.

Something along those lines, with an apology for the demeaning tone, is all you originally needed to do, gilly....

You were caught with your pants down, talking down to me (as you thought) and lecturing that "You must first accept the physical and spiritual parts of us humans before you can even begin to understand!"

And when your boorish approach and your factual errors were pointed out you declared you didn't care. In posting #20 you said: "Sorry to be so blunt--BUT IT IS SO!!" sorry? I doubt that!

Suck it up gilly. You were in the wrong and you know it.

Quoting your earlier statement doesn't make it an apology for the way you talked down to me - you addressed it specifically to me, remember. You're ignoring that....

Suck it up gilly. You're still in the wrong and you know it.

    Sorry 'mac'

    you need to tune in!

Life here on the earth plane as human beings is what we are!! We are part physical and part spiritual!

The 'afterlife' is no vague term--it is where we go when our human physical life has ended!

Life is our human physical term in the 3 dimensional earth plane! The afterlife is where we go after that 3 dimensional earth plane finishes--I believe it is 'HOME'! but will not argue with those that do not accept this.

You must first accept the physical and spiritual parts of us humans before you can even begin to understand!

Sorry to be so blunt--BUT IT IS SO!!

I would love nothing more than to know that there definitely is one. I have crippling death anxiety everyday because of the uncertainty that it hinders me from living fully. I know people say just don't think about it you are wasting the life you have now. I am working on it it isn't easy though. I just wish I got personal messages from loved ones that have passed that most people on here have gotten.

To a degree what you put into will be reflected in what you get out of any investigation you make into survival beyond corporeal death.

Personal evidence is the most convincing but may also be the most elusive and one may need to consider how to accept others' experiences as a major part of one's personal search.  I fall into that latter category but I have met others for whom nothing less than concrete personal evidence will persuade them.

Only you can decide what's right for you.
