    First topic message reminder :

It began before xmas and still has a grip on us and is believed by some to be set to last all of January.

I'm just happy we finally got some decent snow, we got six inches today and it is snowing again now, thing is it causes so many problems and people get hurt.

What are your experiences of the weather like, what problems have you had and do you know of anyone who could use some positive or healing thoughts at the moment because of it.

We live in a valley that is protected on all sides by mountains, so we do not get as cold as other areas. We occasionally (actually, rarely) get down into the low teens, but most of the time in the 20's. Most years we will get just a little bit of snow - maybe an inch or two on the valley floor. But, the surrounding mountains get a lot of it.

Still T-shirt weather here. We are normally wearing long-johns right now. This summer is going to be a real bear for us, I'm afraid.

It looks like the middle of winter there, you wouldn't think spring was just around the corner, it was minus 4 here this morning, very cold.

A nice pic though Prolonged Cold Snap (UK) - Page 2 821538

    Hi Violet
We have fog too Norseman, last night's snow is gone and it's warmed up again, it's crazy weather.

The weather is not crazy as such-just no longer warmed up by the "GULF STREAM" sometimes called the North Atlantic Drift.
Look at an Atlas and follow round to East and West--Russia. Siberia. Canada. Check out their winters --ours are going to very similar from now on.
I once had a Russian from Moscow in my boarding house and asked him to describe the winters there--Have never forgotten his reply--
"It starts snowing sometime in early December with sub zero temperatures, it carries on snowing until March when spring comes."
Lovers of snow (Violet?) be happy.

That is beautiful but i can't explain why. Well, in my mind the most plain and ordinary things are the most beautiful. I really like that Norseman. Both of your pictures are very beautiful. I hope people start treating the earth the right way. It would be a shame to make all the beauty on this plannet go to waste.

    SPRING IS IN THE AIR
March brings the better weather--ask a 'Moscovite' or a 'Canadian' or a 'Siberian'
The Spring cometh--but be prepared for next winter--In December the snows will come again and the sub-zero temps.

I think it's a different kind of cold when there is snow on the ground especially dry snow (or it may just be me) but when its dark and damp (I like dark damp weather too) it somehow feels colder than it actually is, whether that is the damp air or not I don't know Prolonged Cold Snap (UK) - Page 2 588401

If we're going to have more snow next winter that would be great as I love it.
