To be honest, I watch it on TV but I don't believe they take it seriously. I want to believe they(the haunters) mean it well. I've 'cleaned' a lot of houses and I don't even call it 'haunted'. Most of the time it is own energy (aura field) feeding by different things.

A group of friends and I that worked together 40 years ago have a reunion each year somewhere different. Last year I chose to go to Glastonbury, and one friend didn't come - she had seen one of those ghost hunting programmes on TV and they were "investigating" a hotel NEAR to the one we were staying in. Not even the same hotel, but it frightened my friend so much that she just couldn't come. She could not be reassured by me that it is just a programme intending to scare people.

I can imagine how scaring it can be. couldn't find the right name of the program in my post before this one but now I remember, I watch now and then the Haunting Collector on SYFY.
If I clean a house spiritual, I clean every subject, every animal, every aura field of living persons. Cleaning only the house or a subject isn't enough.
But, I like to watch it, it's something else then all that cooking stuff on TV. To me it's amusing, nothing serious.

Animals do have a aura too. I once cleansed a house and asked before how much living persons/animals lived there. 11 cats 
Energy can replace himself. While cleansing the energy can go lifting to another aura in the house and then all the work from cleansing the house only can be lost work because you didn't do it completely.
Once I did a special thing, history came along as well and the ex owner was a well known person in Holland. there where 11 soldiers, at least the spirits of them. It was a haunted castle. the peace came back after a while but I forgot one thing, cleansing the front of the door where people come in. While I was cleansing up there came two other spirits in, a butler and a child. didn't notice it at that time but while i was giving after care.
