Can't remember

why does the mind go blank the second you wake up, i've dreamed long and hard this last two nights, but can't remember a single detail

is said that if you keep paper and pen near your bed, and just as you wake up, without much moving nor talking, write down what you dreamt you learn to remember your dreams. sometimes it might be only one word, or an emotion, sometimes it is more. give it a try. but make sure that every morning you write something on this paper. even if just one word. but don't write, don't remember.. try to search inside you for a feeling or image or smell or anything... it will help.

Thanks shayn I'm not normally too bad at remembering but I haven't remembered any for ages now.

its because when you wake up, the brain switches wavelengths to "work" in. Its times when you have those lucid dreams that stay with you all day and you feel like you cant tell the difference between a dreamstate and awake state that life gets weird because then your coexisting in two worlds,lol. And you get really drained, targeted.

Had a dream this morning Lay in bed just recalling all the details nicely.......................................................................................................... then my partner started chatting away to me and it was gone

There are times that I do remember my dreams, but many times I don't remember much at all. I think that we only remember the dreams that carry some sort of symbolic message for us. The ones that we recall have some sort of specific meaning, but it's not always easy to decifer exactly what it is.
For awhile now, I've been doing a pretty good job at interpreting some of the ones that I've had. I've understood the hidden messages behind them, and it has helped me to better understand certain situations in my life. I can try to do it with anyone here who may be interested... What the heck, I can give it a shot and see what happens... Let me know if you or anyone else is interested...
