Is there really a way to "block" pain?..well there are different types of pain not just one, we have emotional pain, mental pain and physical pain.
This thread is about the latter, physical pain, if you want to make it about emotional or mental pain then start your own thread!,..ok!
This is all about the physical aspect of pain, the kind of pain that strips you of a happy and easygoing life, pain that seems to roam around your body, its a different pain level in a different place everyday, a pain so bad and soul destroying that you may think "what is the point of life", why am I suffering, for what purpose could folk suffer so much!
Is pain real or do we just imagine it, do we make ourselves suffer more by spending so much time dwelling on it, is it a pain that we can push into the background for instance?, or is it a pain that is so sharp it resonates through your whole body, top to bottom!
Pain is a big part of my life, but, the doctors and specialists I see get put off by my smile, my demeanour, it throws them, they get careless when they deal with me because I smile a lot, though I have little to smile about, except for my beloved cat, he makes me smile all the time, but he can't stop me feeling pain, but I forget about it when he mews at me for breakfast or dinner.
When you focus on your pain which is a very easy thing if its bad enough, or sharp enough, or you've had enough so much so that you start to wonder if you are going mad, pain does that, especially real pain!,..what is "real pain" anyway, well on a scale of 0 = no pain and 10 = real pain if you are à 10 then that is constant 24/7 broken bone type pain, that's real pain, and anything in between is just "pain"!
But in saying all of that above there is a terrible place, a real place in real time that is between 0 and 10,.
Its a landscape littered with these poor defenceless folk who depend on an overworked and underpaid group of health carers whom the sick and injured and the chronic pain sufferers in society see as the "panacea" for all their ills!
This inbetween world is not for the faint of heart,.its a place where real people drop to their collective knees with hands clasped together, and they are all looking up to the heavens to some invisible thing that they think inhabits the very sky above them!
Always looking up asking for help, but it doesn't come!, it never comes, it seems that the more they beg for the less they get.
And others who try to hide or contain their pain, they put on a brave face, usually men not women, women handle physical pain better than men I think!
But, I don't think women handle emotional or mental pain like men do, and tending these poor "in between" folk are all the different types of snakeoil salesmen, all the do-gooders ( for a price ), and all the doctors who treat the symptom and not the root cause of the pain!
They treat the pain not the cause of the pain, they give you boxes of pills and try to organise the injections and physiotherapy, its not good just to treat a symptom, they just treat the pain with pills, its quick and easy for them!
It really is "an art form", treating pain is an art form, full stop!..
