Re: 7 days spread
I am not keen on the 7 day spread either but each to his own.I never criticise others as each person is individual and what works for one doesnt suit another.I really dont like reading for myself anyway..

Re: 7 days spread
try and try more. at very emotional times i find it hard to read for myself, but more and more i learn to read to myself as i do for others. try writing down your reading, so it will not be just looking and thinking ah i know and all the thoughts running in your head. try put things in a very logical way on the paper, sentences that makes sense and like this, it really helps.

Hi Violet,Violet wrote:I can't read for myself
I think reading for oneself can be difficult because sometimes we will see what we want to see, rather than what is. I don't do the 7 day spread, but I will now and again pick two cards to read each day. Card 1 refers to how to apply myself for the day. Card 2 can show you what type of day you may have. Perhaps doing this may give you the confidence to read for yourself. That's assuming you want to of course.

Re: 7 days spread
skye, this is a very good idea i think, i used to open one card a day for myself. i used to take it as an advice for the day or as something to pay more attention to during the day.now it is the 2nd week i try the 7 days spread, still don't know what i'm thinking about it. i feel it can be used only as a personal spread. this week i just take the cards as giving insights into the coming days. still not sure what i'm thinking about this spread. but as i don't have the time for a card a day this may work for a while.

Re: 7 days spread
Hi shayn,
I agree with you in that the cards influences give insights in to the type of day we may have ahead. I admit to never trying the 7 day spread - I wouldn't want to know too far in advance if the week was going to end on a sour note - I think one day at a time is more than enough for me to deal with.
It will be interesting though to know what your thoughts are on this spread.

Re: 7 days spread
well just an update:i have been doing this spread now for a while, and also tried to do a daily card reading, and i must admit that i do enjoy giving myself this 7 day spread readings. it gives me an over all look of the week and keep me focus on things or open to other things, i find it giving me good advices. i can't say it is 100% right, but it might be me not being a good reader.but i wouldn't give this reading to someone else. i find it to be something a reader can give himself.

Re: 7 days spread
Hi shayn,
I can't imagine it have anything to do with you thinking you're not a good reader, as no reader or reading can ever guarantee being 100% right.
Thanks for the update although i'm not too sure if I will try it out or not. No doubt i'll stick to doing my 2 cards a day.
What makes you say you wouldn't offer this spread for other people?

Re: 7 days spread
hi Skye
i only meant that i wouldn't offer this reading to someone who comes to me for a reading. i don't see the point there. and i don't really want people returning every week to me for a reading.i also think this reading is good for someone who is using and reading the cards, i think it is a good way to integrate the cards into one's everyday life.
but these are just my thoughts.

Re: 7 days spread
Hi Shayn,
I totally understand why you wouldn't want people returning for a reading every week. I would be alarmed if people did. If I were to offer this type of spread it would certainly be on a once only basis. I'm with you in regard to it being a more personal reading for the actual reader.
