    First topic message reminder :

Many are frightened of astral travel as they fear they will not get back into their body, as I understand it we remain 'attached' by a silver cord, what are your thoughts?

You can have Yorkshire Pudding sweet or savoury The 'silver cord' - Page 2 809779

In sleep state the spirit body is attached to the physical body and, for most people, hovers about six to eighteen inches above the physical body. Through the silver cord the body's energy is recharged and revitalised. If you drift in and out of sleep i.e restless you will wake in the morning completely washed out and tired.
A knowledge of spiritual realities will enable you to move away from the physical body and visit loved ones in the spirit realms often bringing back memories of that visit.

Hi Z if this is the case where it hovers above the body would this explain why you suddenly feel you are being 'snapped back in' if something disturbs you, like the 'jumping' sensation I posted about in the dreaming and sleep section.

Apparantly I wander far and wide when I sleep visiting others who are trying to sleep, I never remember it but they do.

In fact it is elastic in that it can stretch to an infinite length but can quickly bring you back to your physical body if required which is why you sometimes wake with a start.

    I didn't know that either,Z.
So do we Astral travel without being aware of it?
Is that where we go when we dream?
    Joanie

    Yes you can, Joan.
Unless we leave our body we cannot sleep. Where you go when you dream depends on a number of factors. Some people stay close to their physical body other go further afield. It may be to other parts of this world or into other dimensions. Wherever you go you renain attached to the silver cord.

    "Yes you can, Joan.
Unless we leave our body we cannot sleep."

I don't understand this, z. Would you please expand on it?
    Certainly mac.
