I understand that both the digital and printed versions of February’s Two Worlds, Spiritualism’s independent 76-page monthly magazine founded in 1887, will be available over the next few days.

This edition carries the second and final section of editor Tony Ortzen’s interview with Spiritualists’ National Union president David Bruton. The questions he answers are:

Some of your ministers have taken to wearing clerical scarves, which cost £125.00 each! Doesn’t this rather smack of self-aggrandisement and pomposity instead of the humility one might expect? Whatever next – dog collars and cassocks?

Why should anyone bother to support the union? First of all, there’s a £15.00 “Joining fee,” then £25.00 thereafter. Isn’t this a bit steep? What do members get for their hard-earned money?

To more productive matters. Since becoming president, you’ve travelled thousands of miles all over the UK to visit churches, your district councils and the average Spiritualist. What are the most frequent complaints and compliments?

How would you describe the current state of Spiritualism in the UK?

OK. So some of the questions have been fairly fierce. What’s the best thing about the SNU?

What would you, and the union, like to achieve over the next few years?

Two Worlds is now available online at www.twoworldsmag.co.uk/
