Why do our fears

play out in our dreams?

I had a bad dream the other day about something which would devastate me if it happened, it could happen, it's unlikely but it could I can't understand why dreams torture us in this way sometimes.

Interesting aspect but frightening.

The only dreams I have had like that was dreaming I was lost somewhere.

Couldn't find my way home,for example.

I felt petrified in those dreams.

But I do feel what we call nightmares,are fears from our subconscious playing out in minds.

We may be a little worried about something or someone and our mind is bringing that fear to the top.

It doesn't mean that anything is going to happen,but the fear of it happening.

and it finds every open door, dreams are the most easy and open door.

you can try and ask your dreams to be of nice things- in other words, before going to sleep, try to shut the door so fear will not be able to enter this way.

I think you're right there shayn. I haven't had a nightmare for some time now but my husband keeps getting dreams about where he used to live with his parents. These have been going on for years and everytime he wakes up with a start. I often wonder why it's always this same house.

Probably because it is the best way to get through to the conscious mind that something is amiss and to identify what fear needs to be addressed.
