Leaving this World! Empty Leaving this World!

Post  SpiritVoices Wed Nov 06, 2013 10:08 pm

I often wonder when we know we are not long for this world what feelings would we feel?

Knowing that it could be a long time before we see our family.

Wonder if those thoughts would go through our mind?

Or if the wonder of the new world would take over and clear our mind of the physical world we will be leaving behind.

My mother was in a residential home when she died age 91 of old age, she was mentally fit and had no problems conversing.  Mom was psychic all her life and saw spirit as clearly as living people.

On the Sunday before she died I spoke to her on the phone (we lived several hundred miles apart).  It was a really strange conversation, she didn't sound confused or anything, but it was as if she had something to tell me but couldn't say it.  She was crying (and so was I) because although she couldn't put it into words we both knew she was saying goodbye.  When I said that I understood what she was telling me she kept saying thank goodness and that she was relieved.  She said she was sorry.  She passed away a few days later.

A medium who knew Mom told us that she could have passed over earlier, but was holding on to still be with my sister and I.

i know at what age i will go and how.i have not had an easy time in my life but i know my departure will be different.my kids know what will happen i have told them they are all aware of spirit.but some will embrace it more as they get older.

I should imagine we do get a feeling.....
    Not me!  Not yet!
But a good few months ago,we had a lovely lady living on the estate.
For months before, she became very jaded and tired.    Lost weight and barely spoke.     All she could say   was 'I want to die' or  'I'm fed up with my life'.

She passed over a few months after these words were spoken....

    Lovely lady!

Did you guys know before we pass we are stranded in the physical and spirit world, we get a glipseso we know what we are really facing. I wouldn't say its a feeling, I would say its knowing something without a valid explanation.

I believe before pass the "grim reaper"( grim reaper is a spirit that ask you "are you ready" then he takes your soul when you pass.) Helps us in other words.

Firstly, Stop with the attitude saying am all wrong. My granny experienced it and told me just before she passed. Oh wait you won't believe that because you know everything.  Bringing age into now are we native? Atleast I don't think I know everything ay?

Age doesn't matter... But in your cases, your bringing age into to try and bring me down, Just remember aswell, I started studying spiritualism at round the age 8 or 9. Also, you forgot that I said it wasn't only a belief. Hmm, word things before you offend people.n

    Na, Voices.

    Am bloody angry.

Sorry native but am not going to argue with some so called adult who thinks they know it all.

I would be ashamed if I was you as the reason I stated it was a belief.....

First, let me preface this post by saying that I have the utmost respect for (almost) all of the members of this site.

Saying that, I find it reprehensible that ANY member of this site would deem it to be allowable to tell another member that their beliefs are wrong and that their own are right. A belief is just that....a belief. We have no idea what truly is happening on the other side or what happens during the transition from this side to the other.

So, instead of being so dead-set on being correct, why not accept that others have different view-points that they wish to share?

Yes, its based on your experiences, doesn't mean its right for others.

Hi Joanie perhaps a mixture of things, relief, resignation, perhaps joy in some cases, but there are bound to be those who are terrified too.

I don't think we wait long to see our families, our families might not be aware we're around them though.

I think our physical experience here would never be cleared out, wouldn't that defeat the object of coming here?  I imagine many things would fade though such as pain and heartache.:flo:

The more I think about it,Violet the more I can't wait any longer, not that I am anxious to leave this place but feel I have accomplished most of everything I want to do here.

My family are grown up,I have nothing more of interest here to keep me.
I am content with my life but find I seek something new now.
To be with the man who looked after me and be young again to live a new 'life' together.
To meet up with those I knew on earth before, friends I trusted and had good times with.
Just a longing that will not leave me alone......

    My friend,

I feel that you are not the only one who longs to return to spirit. It is not unlike what you feel when you are going to finally be able to return home after a long absence.

I, too, cannot wait to be able to cross that threshold once more. But, that time is not yet as I still have much to do before my time here is finished. At one time I thought my tasks were completed, only to find a whole new list sitting in front of me.

My mother is currently very close to the end of her life now. She is now 96. She spends most of her time asleep e.g. daytime too and I am wondering what she may be experiencing.  She rarely even opens her eyes now (my sister thinks she doesn't have the energy for this) but can hear what is being said and sometimes raises her eyebrows to indicate communication.  It is as if she doesn't want to be in our world now and I hope that is natural rather than depression.  She's not in a coma, i.e. she can look half awake (semi opened eyes) to receive medication or water.  It is harder for her to eat though since her teeth tend to be clenched together.

The sad thing is that, although she is a Catholic, she does not believe in the afterlife.  I have tried to reassure her that her soul lives on.  I know that, despite her quality of life being very poor (she is bed ridden and cannot even move to change position without help, or feed herself and has advanced dementia so is disorientated, with poor memory recall), she has been afraid to let go.  What is happening to her now - being more in sleep mode - seems a gentle transition to passing over.

I have no knowledge of this transitionary phase.  Could it be that she is being assisted/primed to cross over?  I have heard that when we dream, we enter the astral plane.  I am not sure if that is where she is.

I myself am too busy enjoying my life to think about death and an imagined afterlife, if we live our life to its fullest, then when our time comes to die we will except death as a friend, not an enemy.
