The Afterlife (tv prog)
I've just watched the trailer for the programme 'Afterlife' which is being shown on Monday next, think it's going to be on ITV3. Well to be quite honest I've never seen anything so, well, insulting to those who believe in spirit. I may be getting the wrong end of the stick and I hope I am because if what I've seen is after they've done research then goodness knows where they got their information from.

Re: The Afterlife (tv prog)
Hi
Have just watched first episode of 'Afterlife'!
I found it quite interesting and true to life--There are those who 'see' spirit, those who 'believe' in spirit and those who are 'doubting Thomas's'. All three rather well depicted I thought - will await with interest the next episode.
Assumpta, I suspect your 'disquiet' relates to the strange lady who introduced the programme and gave rather 'banal' comments at the end. Playing to the audience I suspect--the programme itself has merit so far--will await and see where it goes.

Re: The Afterlife (tv prog)
I'm recording the series so I can watch the whole basically right through to the end.
Not in one week,of course but a quick follow up.
Glad it is worth watching,Peter.
Looking forward to seeing it.

Re: The Afterlife (tv prog)
Still keeping track of this program. Still interesting and very near in subject to life after death.
Was discussing this with my daughter today. She's never watched it.
Those who are watching it,do you get the impression that the main character in the series (the medium) is a little too keen to share her experiences?
If I ever receive anything I always hesitate to mention it to the person I think the message may belong to. We never know just how that person will take it.
Alison in the series is a very forth right medium.
I also love the way her late mother keeps Alison's house clean for her.
Hoover moving on it's own.... I would be happy to stand back and let any spook do my cleaning for me.

Re: The Afterlife (tv prog)
I haven't seen Alison's mother, but for me this series, the one that is on now on Thursdays is very much like what I experience, although I have never been committed. I was pleased to find a program that didn't use spirit guides and all that vagueness, Tim, or Tom, or might have been Ken, fishing that leads to people trying to make things fit. For me my experiences are clear and clean cut, but also makes me wonder about the afterlife. Like Alison when things are settled the person disappears and stops bugging me. Is this just a psychic echo, or ghost of a person?

Alison's mother is in spirit but because her daughter doesn't like housework etc does it all for her....Alison doesn't like that....

Re: The Afterlife (tv prog)
Lol, Based on my opinion, I do think that the spirit world looks like what one wants to see it as, as in astral projection You shall place intent and you shall receive. I suppose it's the same as the spirit worldskye wrote:OOOPS....... Yes it's definitely NOT DUST. Will change original postingAuras wrote:wait, what? If the spirit world is anything like I have seen,it is the most beautiful 'place' in the world....I say 'world' because it is part of our world but for those who move on from physical death....

Re: The Afterlife (tv prog)
The lovely thing about the prog Afterlife is that once the spirits are freed/listened to or pass on their message they disappear. Perhaps the prog should be renamed 'what can happen after life'? I haven't seen anything in the prog to indicate a heaven or hell or any form of afterlife.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. So none of you fear the wrath of God then?
