Why the water?

I've seen mediums at churches countless times over the years and they always have a glass of water on the platform with them, why do you think this is? Could it simply be that talking for so long dries their mouths or does it have some other use?

Well if it's anything like healing, using up energy, can be very draining, and leaving you thirsty.

It could also be that water is a great conduit, and is used to help with communion.

you get drained and also the water helps ground you. also for some reason it just help the channeling. as comunication is like water...

I agree with Shayn as I use it too for the same purpose of grounding

Yeah, waters good and a nibble of dry biscuit if you are struggling to ground yourself after a heavy session and even after rooting. Mind you it still took time after that last ritual. Another one coming up at the end of the month. Autumnal Equinoxe (Mabon)

i don't know how it works but i know water can ground you, i use it very often and it works.
on the other hand, maybe the have water there as they talk alot?? simple as that?

any one of the elements present is going to connect you more intensely with the light work being done. but you have to remember that any and all elements present will send their own energy into the mix.

this is interesting idea but in this case then why only the water represnted?

probably because the byproduct of water energy is the release of anxiety/release of stress. It promotes a grounded channel to work in. But I would say that if you are already a very grounded person, then fire or wind would be a better choice of element. Like wise, if you carried excess amounts of unpredictable energy, water and earth would help.

I understand some mediums drink water after each reading to help them break the link of a spirit communicator before going onto the next one.

Maybe they are using an old Nostrodamus trick "Hydromancy", staring into a glass or bowl of water to get their so called visions. Sounds weird but thats how he did it or maybe they get thirsty who knows?
