Hello
As I do not use a "deck" in the physical realms I had to look up this term " signifigator" .
It seems that it is a card that is used to represent the querent ( one who seeks ) in the tarot reading.
Learned that not all spreads use one, but one of the most popular one's does the Celtic Cross. I got the first ever reading in that pattern given me the other day. I had a very specific question to answer and that was the way the cards came to me. I had to even GOOGLE to find the name for the layout.
For me if I am having troubles getting the reading for someone I will ask for an outline. The three cards Past, Present, and Near Future to give me an overlay of what they might well want to know. To ask for a general reading is all fine and good but there is ALWAYS a hidden reason for why one wants the reading. Something they at the time might not even know.
I too know that for me I am simply drawing on past life knowlege to do the readings. Memory keeps the cards there, and from what the reader I use most she says the cards are a "tool" to show the clients is all. The knowlede needed is alreay in self it just needs the door opened is all.
