well plenty!
the meaning of divination is to gain information by the use of a tool.

Immediately
by saying this, it sounds a lot more well rounded than fortune telling,
that brings all this down to party and parlor tricks.

tarot
cards and other tools of the trade should be used to gain personal
insight and promote self growth, the person reading may tell you things
that will happen should you stay on your current path, but the person
who the reading is for should be the one who has the power of change,
not the person reading it.

telling the future in this case is
far more of a by product of the reading, not the main event, at least
it should be, if you have ever left a reading scared or frightened,
then its being done wrong!

you complitly right cauldron, and i agree with you , sadly most people like to hear what will happen in thier life then take the responsibility over thier life and change it to what they truely like it to be.
still i agree with you and this is how i see the useage of cards or any other divination tool.

nomenclature is not the most important part of divination. Call it whatever, the emphasis is on who is doing it, and why.

out the path you're on, and doing what you can to change it if you
aren't comfortable with where you are headed?
