Do you think many of the things that happen in life are signs of something to come? Or do you think everything is coincidence. Like does everything truly happen for a reason or do we make our own future depending on our thoughts about the world?

Re: Do you think life....
Welcome Argena.
Interesting topic which we often ask about.
Sometimes things happen for a reason as the old saying goes.
I often wonder if our lives follow to a pattern,
Do you believe in Reincarnation? Wrong subject but just asking a question.
My feelings are...we are given a life to live to achieve certain patterns.
We can follow a certain path to achieve our aims but sometimes life and decisions take us away from that path.
It all depends on how life moves us along.

In answer to your first question the answer will be 'it depends'. Some of the events may be indicators of what's in the offing yet the remainder will have no special significance. We could drive ourselves loopy trying to sort the former from the latter!
As for coincidences some individuals will claim that there is no such thing and everything in life was planned. Others say that certain important events are planned for our lives here but not all events. It's impossible to prove either claim and one has to decide which version most appeals to one's own reasoning....
Does everything happen for a reason, you ask? Think about that in terms of what it might mean if everything happened for the reason that it had been planned. Does that appeal to you or would it make sense that the reason why things happen is that they come about because something else caused them to happen. The 'cause and effect' principle that nothing happens without there being a cause. But it doesn't necessarily mean that any particular outcome was planned by someone, somewhere deliberately to achieve that outcome.

Re: Do you think life....
I wish I could get a sign right now, i'm in a very frustrating position
I'm sort of half and half, some things I believe are orchestrated and others are simply down to coincidence.

Re: Do you think life....
Now that is a subject I am always interested in.
'Cause and effect'
Does something we do or say have effect on our lives?
Some action we perform in ignorance, have far effect again on our future for instance?
YES! I believe that can happen.
Our whole lives can change through one wrong action or change through a good action on our part. Also other's actions or words can affect our whole lives.
I am a very strong believer in 'Cause and Effect'.

Re: Do you think life....
This is a complicated subject; it is said that the earth is a schoolroom for learning lessons which is very true but I do not really believe in coincidence; what I believe is that situations are arranged for our life before we actually come to this world. We have free will which is a precious gift from God and it is our free will to choose in which way we handle situations. On a material level because we have free will our own free will can be overrode by other people’s free will. If we think about it we live two lives one spiritual and one material; the spiritual aspect is for our spirit to evolve. The material life is subjected to many temptations which are forced onto us by those who abuse their free will and cause wars; famine; illegal laws and so on. What happens on this earth is not created by God and God cannot interfere with what takes place on this earth it is mankind themselves who create evil but in saying that God does send signs and knowledge to help in certain ways

Hi Arbel, nice to see you on here,Welcome!
Good post there and makes common sense.
We do make our own decisions and do try to follow the road we were meant to live.
Sometimes though it can be a hard road to follow and we falter on the way.

Arbel
cant say much more than this really i would only add, i was in a
dilemma recently and asked spirit for direction, i got answers and
advice from people i trust explicitly and it tied in with what people
were telling me here on the earth plane, but it just didnt ring
true/resenate with me so i went aganst all that was said to me and went
with my heart because i felt it was the right thing to do that was my
choice and ive yet to discover wether that was the right choice but my
faith has been thoroughly tested let me tell you and i guess what i'm
trying to say here (and it pretty much echoes what Arbel is saying) we
all have freedom of choice no matter what people say or do or what we
believe we make up our own mind...

Re: Do you think life....
I am a firm believer that, when in spirit, we decide what we would like to learn/accomplish during our next incarnation. Once we do incarnate, those still in spirit who have agreed to help us accomplish our goals of growth and learning help to guide us in the proper direction. They do not take our (spiritual) hands and lead us around, no. It is more like taking a road trip (yes, I have said this before).
Say you have decided to drive from Los Angeles to New York. You make your decision in advance that you want to drive up interstate 5 to interstate 80 and then head out across the country. So, you begin your trip. Then, as you travel, you find other stopovers you would like to make. Things you would like to lean about along the way.
So, instead of taking a direct route to your destination, you begin to zig-zag, stopping here and there, and beginning to really enjoy your trip. Before long you begin to forget why you are driving around, but know you have to get somewhere but don't know where.
All of a sudden, you begin to run into people who help you on your way...to point you in the right direction without actually telling you where you are supposed to go. These are your guides. They only help to guide you, not take you by the hand and lead you.
You see, it is the destination that matters, not how you get there.

Signs
Hi, Argena! Welcome. I believe in signs. I see them often. I also loved reading 1antique's post, making me feel that even if I am not so clear about my purpose in life, I am following a beautiful plan I set in motion a long time ago.
That, plus reading about Interstate 80, I liked. It made me look up Interstate 80, and imagine part of that route.

I like the way you put that,1antique. Makes a lot of sense.1antique wrote:I am a firm believer that, when in spirit, we decide what we would like to learn/accomplish during our next incarnation. Re: Do you think life....
I believe for a big part we are or own creators. We are the result of our acts and choices in the past wether or not from this life only or plenty before this.
Of course there is the outside influence as well. Are you vulnerable for influence? How good are you standing in your own force/power?
I guess it is for everybody differently.
Some people keeps hanging in the past, keep staying in the victim role. Could write a lot now but no particular reason. There's black magic from outside as well, pfff
It is not about the end of our journey. But about what we have of experiences during the journey.
