No proof needed imo, :flo:  animals have souls, they have personality, they care and interact with humans regularly it's just a shame humans don't realise/notice/accept that, did you hear about the cat who kept pawing it's owner's breast? Turned out she had breast cancer i'll see if I can find the story.

We can't actually PROVE that we have souls so how does it prove animals do?  Better to speak about 'clear evidence' for it, I suggest, and not proof.

It never been proved as far as I know, but if a car needs a driver to motivate it so a body needs a soul for the same reason.

Mac: I see and understand your point but I think what the author of the piece is alluding to is that animals have a range of emotions and values similar to our own. And in some cases perhaps superior...

"I saw deep in the eyes of the animals the human soul look out upon me. I saw where it was born deep down under feathers or fur, or condemned for a while to roam four footed among the brambles. I caught the clinging mute glance of the prisoner and swore that I would be faithful"

That is beautiful,KnightofAlbion.....and so very true.    Looking at a dog mostly,we see only fur,a tail, two perky ears and a damp nose.

But look at their eyes.     The warmth of love when we give them a hug.   The sorrow when we chastise them.     The mischief when we tease them.
The excitement when we run along the beach with them.
The anger when they confront an enemy.    The fear when they know it is time to go.   The last most of all when we realise they are in pain and it is their time to go.
The decision we have to make for that loving sweet animal because we don't want them to suffer any more.....

    A beautiful observation.

And many of them would hurl themselves against hopeless odds to protect the one they love - and that is love indeed...

The only time I had a chuckle at Pippin (Yorkie) was when a male dog was after her..

She wasn't interested in the slightest...she literally jumped from the pavement straight into my arms in a frenzy!  Then sat there looking down at him as if saying....'I'm not interested....go away.....'.... :eyeroll:

Beautiful, heart touching stories! Awesome, Knight! Growing up on a farm, it is obvious that each animal within any species has a unique personality, and that they have complex emotions, and certain heightened senses that we do not normally have.

I would even say that a dog is very psychic in it's own way....
Not only sensing spirit but our moods as well....Not for the first time Pippin  used to come and sit beside me on the settee and stay....quiet.....for once. :giggles:

Oh yes.   Animals are very knowing...They sense when we are not pleased with them or happy with them....she knew when her time had come when we both took her to the vet.....hubby wouldn't let me go in with him to the vet.    She looked at me as he carried her into the room, that knowing look that said ...'I'm ok,mum'. :sob:
