(Violet, its been almost a year and I STILL do not undertand what bumping is. I see bumping and nothing happens!!)

When you click that link at the top (view posts since last visit) it brings up all the topics with new posts in, any topics without new posts will not show up in that, this keeps all the most popular topics at the top.
With this particular topic, people might find it and go and light a candle (without posting in the topic itself) which is fair enough, people want to light candles quietly and privately.

But because the topic isn't getting any new posts it is not appearing as a popular topic even though it probably is popular, so I write 'bumping' in a post to send the topic back to the top, which will encourage people to look at it, and new members will hopefully see it too.
Bumping is just a way of sending a topic to the top and making it more 'visible', to write 'bump' or 'bumping' is better than writing a load of nonsense, you'll notice I 'bump' the competition topic often too, because I don't want people to miss out

You're right, Violet, I light a candle sometimes but without posting in the thread, I think most people would do that.
I have the site saved to my favourites too, but this thread takes us directly to the SIF candles and it's nice to share.

police have been informed my friend michael john dooley has been missing for 2 weeks from the shropshire area he is in the local newspaper aswell no1 knows whats happened hes in the shropshire star and hope is fading each day:( xx
