    First topic message reminder :

It began before xmas and still has a grip on us and is believed by some to be set to last all of January.

I'm just happy we finally got some decent snow, we got six inches today and it is snowing again now, thing is it causes so many problems and people get hurt.

What are your experiences of the weather like, what problems have you had and do you know of anyone who could use some positive or healing thoughts at the moment because of it.

I think it has been much colder this year Tony I have never had to put the heating on in June before but I did on Friday night, it was really cold.

Also normally we don't need the heating after March, we have this year several times, i'm dreading my bill..

We in Oregon have been dealing with the same type of weather as you, Violet. We needed the heat on at night because it was getting down to the low 40's F every night, and the days in the high 60's F. Then, all of a sudden, it would heat up and we would have to turn on the air, then cold again...and rain...lots of rain. Usually, fire season here begins in mid to late May, but, this year, has still not begun.

BTW...today is cloudy and cool. It is only supposed to get up to 73 degrees. (Normally in the high 80's to low 90's.)

"Prolonged heatwave" ? where would that be Violet ? [lol]
No water shortage in the North-East, never is. Most of the run-off from the Pennines is to the East and we have massive reservoirs which were built to service the industrial complexes which [sadly] no longer exist.
Still, on the good side, at least we dont have to drink recycled sewage like the South-East.
    Down-side ? - it rains a lot [lol]

Hosepipe ban in North-West because of sub-normal winter rainfall there. The reserves there feed rather large conurbations such as Manchester and Liverpool. Perhaps the time has come for a National Water Grid similar to electricity supply. Reservoirs in the North-East are well topped-up.
