    First topic message reminder :

Suppose someone proved there was no afterlife how would this affect you, I don't mean regarding your beliefs as such, but would it make you more fearful of death?

Like we all have our own personal views on life here,so it will be in the spirit world.

Welcome to the club, Panda. So many questions and not enough answers.
We are all seeking but there will always be doubts. All we can do is balance the evidence and each come to our own conclusion. Exchanging opinions on the forum is a help though, don't you think?
Personally I find myself rocking backwards and forwards, sometimes persuaded by an argument and other times refuting that same point. Then someone will add another perspective and I'll find myself back where I started! It never gets boring though.

"No one can say what's what on the other side until that day we return to it. And even then the experience could be subjective."

If that was written by someone on 'the other side' about earth life it would be just as valid.

When we have passed over, what, I wonder, would we tell folks there who haven't experienced life here in-the-body? What could we say to give a full description of all the lives and experiences possible in-the body? What you mean you think that the so-called afterlife is populated only by people who once lived as we do now? Really? What if there was no afterlife? - Page 4 451437

Think on if you think that earth life, our 'afterlife' and what we find there is all that there is to know about life..... But please don't reject what has frequently been communicated from various sources about certain aspects of the next phase(s) of our existence.

Of course we'll never know all there is to know about what comes next. Come to think of it, how much do we know about what happens in the world we're presently living in? But if we conveyed that certain small amount we've experienced and learned to someone who'd never lived here, would we be misleading them?

Neither are we misled, or ignorant, about our next port of call from the accounts we've been given thus far - even though they be only a tiny glimpse of a canvas so magnificent that we'll probably never see more than a fraction of it - wherever we fetch up in our futures!

How would you describe our world here to someone in the spirit world,Mac?
You personally? Doom and gloom or what?

Jesus no! Doom and gloom? Not a bit of it! Of course there are many, many things which are hard-going in this world and I'm thankful I can be the observer of them I am rather than a participant in them. Maybe I've already done that, eh? Or got it to come!!

If I had to describe what I know of my world I'd be able to convey only the equivalent tiny impression of the whole that someone 'inspirit' would be able to convey to us of their world. Hence the comparison I made earlier.

I guess, though, that because I'm aware of these difficulties, I might approach the situation in a different way to others - kinda like I do in many other situations! What if there was no afterlife? - Page 4 451437

The rest can follow at other times, from other sources, be it personal or from another third party....

    Works for me.

We could all look at an identical picture of something and would all give different interpretations of it, the same with films, we'd all view them differently

I am extremely glad I found this site! I was convinced that the world was nothing but life and death. Though, the short experience of being here has already brought my mind to different levels of thoughts. Everyone has a different view on things and it always has me wondering. You are 100% right though, it never gets boring!

Joan, the proverb ( I shouldn't have to explain this!) means the cost of gaining experience is very high.

There is also often confusion over terms such as 'lessons to be learned' which (in spiritual terms) only means something like 'experiences to be gained'.

Well there is no after life for Robert, or the programmed mind body organism that has served this life for me in Consciousness. To want to continue this so called life is to me the ego just wanting itself to never be destroyed, enjoy this life, enjoy the game that we have made, but learn to let it go. :balloons:
