Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
I was just thinking... Do you believe that everyone has a soulmate? If so why/why not?

Re: Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
Sorry, Panda, I haven't a clue. It would be nice to think so but I can't see the purpose it would serve here on earth seeing that we don't know who that soulmate is. "Soulmate", "Twin Flames"---it's all very confusing.

Re: Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
We all meet soulmates during our lives.
They are people that we feel particularly close to in hearts and souls.
We meet again and again through future lives.

It used to be easy until somebody put another definition on 'soulmate' and introduced 'twin flames' which I'd never heard of before. Now, like Viking, I'm confused about what they really mean.Viking wrote:Sorry, Panda, I haven't a clue. I have four soul mates who I met recently,I have a few others that I have met throughout my life.
We always keep in touch, even though it may be years in between the last meeting.
Soul mates come through every life time we have had, meeting up again and again.
Sometimes through problems we have had together in previous lives.
Twin flames are like soul mates but are two halves of a whole.
They come together as one at the end of their lives.
Hope that helps.

Re: Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
Hi Joanie,
I have met people with whom I've had an immediate affinity and a feeling of familiarity and 'meeting again' so perhaps, according to your definition, they were my soulmates then?
Still not sure I grasp the concept of twin flames though.

I don't even know if reincarnation is a fact so I can't understand how sometimes it is taken for granted as being true. The fact is nobody knows. You can read much in books but that doesn't mean it's all true.

I do agree with you there,Viking.
Until absolute proof is produced,it's a nil factor.

I think you will get a better answer if you ask the question in a different way that drops all the labels. If everyone has that one other half, That one person they are meant to be with. Even then such things can be confusing as it can be easily debated that one is meant to be with different people to help teach them throughout their lifetimes.

Exactly... To me I never liked the concept of being with all these relationships so you could be with your one true twinflame/soulmate at some future time. It's almost like you spent all that time with someone really got to know them.. Then being told it's just a lesson you learned.. And then that's that.

didn't someone post somewhere here that twinflames were like one soul split in two, but soul mates are two seperate souls

You will know instantly who your soul mates are the min you meet.
I have to agree with this, I knew who mine was instantly.
I don't agree that soulmates are necessarily your 'other half' /partner in life, your soul mate could be your best friend, a relative or some random person you meet on a bus, but I do believe you'll 'know' straight away.
Hope you found the other threads on this Panda.

Soul Mates
Hello all
Sorry to be the one who puts the 'mockers' on things!!
Every one I have had contact with in the real world AND on here who have met their 'Soul Mate' have had it end in disaster!
for soul mate also include twin flame!
My experiences with this led me to write a poem --'Soulmates'
Have posted before!
Am still confused by the whole issue!
Peter

Not in my case Peter, and I don't believe in the twin flame thing

Re: Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
For those who go along the path of the possibility of multiple earth lives (as I do) the notion of a single 'soul mate' is a difficult one to accept.
The likelihood of a soul-mate incarnating in the close environs of the other is hard to swallow unless it is believed we all have unfettered choices of the life/lives we have. (I don't go down that path) By that I mean that a single soul mate and its individual partner would need to be able to pick incarnations in which they would be close enough physically eventually to meet up. Extend the principle, though, to soul cell members and we have a different picture.....
A soul cell consists of varying numbers of individuals, with the potential for very large group numbers. All would be closely linked to each other and hence any incarnate pair meeting up might feel as if each was the discrete soul mate of the other - there would be no way of knowing they were both from a large group.
Put simply any two incarnate individuals from a soul cell group would feel like they were soul cell partners ie 'soul-mates'.
With large soul cell membership there would be a far higher chance of coinciding, interacting physical lives and hence a far higher incidence of pairs recognising one another.
That, I suggest, might explain the issue, particularly so now the global population is so huge. Far more chance now of meeting other soul-cell members than ever before in humankind's history.

Re: Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
"life wasn't meant to be easy..." i agree with ex prime minister malcolm fraser. i think people fantasize, try to justify and legitimize confused and passionate feelings they have with fantastic notions....
soul mates and soul groups/ monads, as distinct from this crazy other half notion, i can understand. as the 11 th child of 11, i know one has different feelings for different people at a soul level. when my husband saw my surname printed on an application, instantly it flashed in his mind he would marry this person. when i saw him i heard in my head "family" (like he belongs to my family) but i don't believe in this fantastic notion that used to cause so much division on sf, despite all kinds of mahantas, yogis, spiritual teachers saying; "no! no! no! no!"
there's a lot of love to be had in this world, trying to find someone like you is not the panacea, and can make you overlook true love when it comes knocking. be well.

Re: Does Everyone Have a Soulmate?
I used to think 'yes' we had one soul mate.
Now I am not so sure.
I think we can have an infinite number of soul mates, people like family, friends even people we pass in the nighr like ships.
We meet once in life, feel that 'drawing' together then pass on to meet again another lifetime.
Just my opinion,folks.
