How did you start scrying?
I have no experience with this... so: How do you get to scrying? Does one wish for it and decide to start it, just like a hobby, is it a calling? Or have you visions and recognize you are psychic that way?

Scrying is something that anyone can be taught and with a bit of practice a good result can be had.

Re: How did you start scrying?
Watching music videos on repeat for hours. Happened accidentally. I don't see any difference between scrying and divination with tarot. Everything in my reality can be read like a tarot card but also trigger a vision. (Or more precisely, be in my line of sight synchronistically when I have a vision.) I prefer music videos over anything else.

When I was a child, I was scrying when I saw various forms in the clouds.Xamelattha wrote:I have no experience with this... so: How do you get to scrying? Does one wish for it and decide to start it, just like a hobby, is it a calling? Or have you visions and recognize you are psychic that way?
I believe we all can scry. The first step is to believe it and realize it is very simple..... even natural....... as looking at a cloud.

Re: How did you start scrying?
Personally I feel you have to feel called to do this. It has to resonate with you.
Like not everyone will use (Tarot) cards even though in principal everyone could use them effectively.
I can heal, but I don't feel called to, so I don't. I prefer to read.
How you do it... you don't really look at something, nor do you stare. It's in between these too. So a semi-stare, hihi. While you relax and don't try to force anything.
Scrying... I have been told a number of times I could easily do that and would be good at it. It does, however, not really appeal to me at all.
Yet, once I ended up doing it out of the blue.
I was sat outside with my then partner and I could see myself in the double glazing of our home. Suddenly as I was kind of looking at myself, I saw my true self. My essence. At that point I was scrying and the double glazing had helped the same way the surface of water can.
I knew if I'd look away for a sec or really blink firmly, it'd be gone. So I just enjoyed it while it lasted :) It was pretty amazing to see my true essence in human form and it has helped me after to tune into whenever I needed to buoy myself up.

A good scrying medium to use is Picture Jasper. Very easy to 'see' stuff going on in that stone.

You can also get deep into a charoite or serafinite. Mentioning that as I automatically ended up doing it with my charoite :)
But to be honest, I'm not sure that's the same as what's meant with scrying. Personally I feel it is not, that it's different. But that's me.

Re: How did you start scrying?
Is this scrying?
Pareidolia (/pærɪˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-DOH-lee-ə) is the tendency for incorrect perception of a stimulus as an object, pattern or meaning known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music. Pareidolia can be considered a subcategory of apophenia.
Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the Man in the Moon, the Moon rabbit, and other lunar pareidolia. The concept of pareidolia may extend to include hidden messages in recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds, and hearing indistinct voices in random noise such as that produced by air conditioners or fans.[1]
Pareidolia was at one time considered a symptom of human psychosis, but it is now seen as a normal human tendency.[2]
Pareidolia is not confined to humans. Scientists have for years taught computers to use visual clues to "see" faces and other images.[2]

Re: How did you start scrying?
I started more than several years ago when I had an interest in (white) magic. One of the methods I knew of and practised was with the pendulum. After studying magic is when I came across scrying using a black bowl filled with water. Very bizarre results. As my claircognizance started to surface the scrying fell by the wayside and focused on the clair.Xamelattha wrote:I have no experience with this... so: How do you get to scrying? Sorta. But not quite. Using varying mediums to use as a method of retrieving answers to questions asked would be my interpretation. Depending on the complexity of a question would determine what medium to use or would be suitable to use. "Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is the fairest one of all?" Ring any bells?skfarblum wrote:Is this scrying?

So it is not only about seeing patterns like dragons in the clouds.
Can one use tarot cards for scrying or is it more like seeing patterns in tea leaves?

Re: How did you start scrying?
Tea leaf and tarot card reading are sorta similar, but once again, not. They have their own interpretations of what you see of them. As you cannot ask a question and get an answer. You see an image and have to interpret it for your answer. As for scrying, you can ask a question and get an answer which you have to interpret. Sort of like a dream. My understanding of a dream is an answer to a question you haven't asked yet. My interpretation is a way for non-gifted people a way to access information that would be otherwise unknown to them, as a posed to those with claircognizance as a gift do not need to scry. Because they are the scrying tool.skfarblum wrote:So it is not only about seeing patterns like dragons in the clouds.

An abstract version back to front sort of way. For example to see the death of something doesn't necessarily mean the death of that person, more so the death of a habit or relationship, the ending of something. But this getting off-topic.

Do scryers make a special pool for themselves?
Or is this just fiction?

How you do it... you don't really look at something, nor do you stare. It's in between these too. So a semi-stare, hihi. While you relax and don't try to force anything.
And no, they don't make their own pools, although you could. But there's no need for that, you can simply buy or make a scrying bowl or mirror or do it any other way.
I even got it to work when looking in/at double glazing.

Typically a scrying bowl or a scrying mirror is black/darker colour so I take it that helps.

Re: How did you start scrying?
I suggest you start with the simplest and easiest way to scry using a pendulum. Use a smooth-edged dinner plate to draw a circle. Divide it into four equal quadrants. Make a pendulum something heavy enough to pull down on string or jewellery chain. Not a massive thing. you must clear your mind of mundane thoughts from the day. have your pen/pencil ready. Holding the pendulum (the chain/string) with your thumb and index finger, hold it central just above where the quadrants intersect there is a specific way to position your fingers hand/wrist and arm. It has to be that your elbow is on the table so you can manage to reach the centre of the circle with the pendulum. Your wrist bent inwards towards your forearm. Not forcibly or in a painful way, just enough to be able to activate all muscles and tendons within the hand/arm. Now, while the pendulum is centred, ask these questions to calibrate your circle and pendulum. Keeping a clear mind with no prejudice or bias, focus on YES. If done correctly the pendulum will move in its desired direction. Mark the direction for YES. Repeat this step for NO, MAYBE, DON'T KNOW and DON'T WANT TO ANSWER.skfarblum wrote:Thanks.I feel I understand what is needed.RainbowLight wrote:

You need to ask simple yes and no questions and keep it short and not over complicate the questions.
Have fun.
