Tarot cards newbie question Empty Tarot cards newbie question

Post  PiscesNN Sat Aug 19, 2017 5:32 pm

I got my first deck of tarot cards yesterday (Radiant Rider-Waite), and I asked a few questions, one being if I should stop talking to the guy that I’m interested in. I pulled the King of Wands upright for this question. I’ve been confused because I don’t think the cards that I am pulling are giving me a yes or a no. I then asked a second question which was “Is the guy I’m interested in hanging out at a certain girl’s house” because I think he was, but I’m not sure. So I pulled two cards for this: Page of Wands reversed, and the Strength card reversed. I googled the meanings but I feel like they had nothing to do with what I asked. I’d really appreciate some help with interpretation, Thank you.

This is Violet's field but I don't know if she's around much.  I also don't know if there are any other experienced Tarot specialists here among our few regular contributors.

Cards arent really meant for yes or no answers so it may be an idea to dig a little deeper and find the real feelings and questions that you have about this guy.

Im no expert in tarot, I use them on occassion to find clarity about my own journey, however they are only a tool to help when intuition may be clouded, but intuition is still needed to see.

For what its worth,  Wands usually indicates the spiritual aspect of your journey, so perhaps they are showing you the spiritual aspect of the relationship. Your questions are about physical actions, so perhaps the cards are showing you a different way of looking at this situation.

You can ask yes or no questions and get accurate answers however, it takes time to learn the Tarot. It's not going to be helpful going out buying a deck then throwing questions at it, without knowing what you are doing. Same with anything else in life you have to put the time and effort into understanding and learning before you can see results.

You also don't have to be intuitive to read the cards. They can be accurately read using various systems such as numerology, kabbalah, etc along with the book meanings. But once again, these systems have to be learned. Intuitive reading usually comes with time and practice but it is not essential. It adds another layer to a reading, after you have learned the basic meanings from traditional sources.

And lastly, you need to think about boundaries when reading the Tarot or any form of divination. "Is the guy I'm interested in hanging out at a certain girl's house" is really none of your business. You're delving into two people's private lives by asking such questions, in effect spying on them. The questions you ask should be primarily about yourself. How would you feel if someone did a reading about your personal life without your consent? Would you be happy with people rummaging through your drawers, asking questions about you and then using the information they've discovered for their personal gain?

I’m inclined to agree with Gardenia
