    First topic message reminder :

Alright this email was sent to me a joke but looking at the age differences between men and women who marry, to me is not normal.

...and I am talking about more than 20 years difference.

Most of the females were over 50 years old.
Their male companions were sometimes half that age.

    Can that really be love?:SH:

I would want to 'mother' them.....

Love has no boundaries, but some how the older we get the more we feel the gap.

I met a sweetheart at age 26 who was 46 at the time we both were full of vitality. Now I am 50 something and he is almost 80. I can hardly talk to him on the phone anymore, even with his hearing aid. When we go out for dinner and we hold hands as two people in love often do, I must remember to walk slow because his bones are not as strong as they use to be.

The love is still there, only with extra added previsions. :peace:

That is good,Violet.    Now in a case like that,I sense a difference.
I can sense you both as a 'soul mate' relationship.

That is the difference!   But so many young/age relationships are different.   For various reasons......

This is mainly what I mean.   But as long as that love prevails......
Like you, there is a continuing love that holds the relationship together.
But not always......it depends on what the couple have in their characters.....was it the beauty of the female or the handsomeness
of the man that attracted one to the other?

SV, love doesn't need a reason it just happens. However, the journey is not all smooth sailing. True love endures forever.

Im riding your shirt tails Spirit! :giggles:

When I think of the age gap...my mind automatically gets the image of "gold diggers" and ones along those lines. Like Hugh Hefner for example.  Totally stero typical thinking. Honestly.
But as Spirit says..to read of ones here that are in these relationships...that makes it more personal and to come to a different perspective of thinking.

I must be honest with you, initially the most attractive thing about this older man was his money and the fact that he was spending a lot of it on me.
Later on down the line I realized I had a very loyal friend for life. Being lovers faded away with age and our love and appreciation for each other is victorious in the end.

Was I digging for gold?  Sorry to say, Yes, I was. :naughty:
But the real question is did I find it? Yes, I did! Only not as we know gold to be. "Spiritual gold is worth far more than earthly treasures."

Oh CW,at least you are honest.   You know, sometimes we meet someone and pick up an entirely different impression on how they are.

I met someone a while ago and thought he was such a gentleman.
I liked him and we got on well.
Then the remarks came out, snide remarks hinting what he was after.
    That did it!

You and your friend I would say you are true soul mates.

    Bless you both....

I wouldn't say soul mates, but I am happy to say our love for each other is lasting through time. Good times, money, gifts, vacations, jewelry and all the things that kept me interested in the beginning, many have fade away. Even the passionate love making changed with time and age.

But if the love is real, the true treasures will remain. Such as love, respect, appreciation, gratefulness, honestly, being kind to each other, patience, laughter, compassion, just being there for each other as genuine friends do.

Wish I could say he's is my twin flame or something like that, but today I am thankful that he chose me the share his life with.

    Love to all...

     "gold diggers"
:giggles:  The only gold digging either of us have ever done is hands down the back of the sofa foraging for coins when we've been super skint:giggles:

None of us have ever been financially rich, never will be, but being together is priceless (and penniless:giggles:) (we need a soppy emoticon)

Today my mate is closer to my own age. Nevertheless, the older, younger combination can be the spice of life that is needed for some people.
The same with any other opposite, its true, "opposites do attract."
